Ritalin version:
I need a spoiler and "insert" for a bumper Painted. Have paint already, just needs color.

Normal version:
I did some side work for a supposed friend that runs a body shop, and he was going to paint a spoiler, my rear insert, and paint some SIMPLE stripes on just the hood, trunk and spoiler, basically in trade for my work. This was back in April and now it's August shortly.

At this point I'd settle for just the parts painted body color, and just take a loss on the paint I bought for stripes) Unless you'd look at the car and what I want to do and can deem it to be reasonable. I will do whatever prep work is needed, and hell I'll assist you thru the whole job, money is tight, and anything I can do to save costs I'd do. I've missed out on countless car shows, and bcm events, because i'm embarrased with how my car looks, partially prepped already for the job, and I dont' want to take it anywhere..

I have already bought the paint, DBU 2005 GTO Quicksilver Metallic, DBU 2005 GTO Impulse Blue Metallic, spoiler is brand new, unpainted, rear insert is factory urethane, unpainted from the factory.

This is essentially what I was doing, but with silver stripes

With this spoiler

I might even just paint my rear insert flat black and leave it similar to what it was stock (grey). Still undecided.
I have enough blue paint to redo the hood if needed and paint the spoiler. I have waay more than enough silver for stripes.

Did you buy activator, primer, flex agent?
What brand / system of paint did you buy? Dupont, PPG, etc

It's PPG -- DBU Line. I hadn't bought anything else paint-wise as in my situation they said "get me the paint, I'll do the rest"

I took my stuff because I've waited for over four months :wow even just waiting for then to even take a piece of sandpaper to ONE of my parts, the other stuff, never even unwrapped from the box. Sadly we discussed doing this work to my car last winter and he was all for it. I don't want to have a car with half the rear bumper missing and a bunch of open holes on the trunk for all of 2008.

I say get on his ass and start yelling in his ear. He'll will either tell you to **** off or he will start to paint your shit. Either way you know where you stand with him.

I would get in his ear otherwise sand it yourself and just paint them. I thought you used to paint stuff in the past, otherwise do a search for the local painters and contact them.

I'll likely go to Crystal Auto Body like usual. I've done body work, and left the painting part to the painters. Spoiler and insert would be ready to go, otherwise. Some people like sidejobs. Thanks though, might hook up w/ Cryptic on this...

I'm kind of diggin' the spoiler..... depending how far it sticks out.
Do you have any profile shots of one?
It almost has the shape of the 4th gen SS spoilers.

Did you try contacting Keith to see what he can do for you?

I haven't contacted any people/shops yet. I have a early start on one of my work days this week, and will use the "open" afternoon to get to calling/contacting people.

I love 3 peice spoilers!! looks great. I know of a bodyshop that isn't busy at all begging me to bring my car in but I'm not ready yet. Let me know if your interested. You can figure out how to get a hold of me.

There are quite a few shops out there that are beggin for work. I have a big dealershipI sell to that has been sittin on their hands now for almost a week. Go out and get lots of quotes. As shops that are beggin for work will go down in price if you haggle a bit just so they have something to do. Great timing for you. But sucks for my buisness. Shops with no work = shitty sales for me.
