Anyone bank with them? Im going to switch banks and I noticed they say that they pay you back ATM fee's. Is this true or is there something in the fine print? Right now its either US Bank, Chase, or National City. I have Bank Mutual now and there just isn't enough of them around.

I dont have that type of account, but so far so good.

Im just waiting for them to become another bank. Thery were St. Francis, then Mid America, now National City.

As far as locations, they suck.

I've had National City for the house mortgage for years. They've been around in other parts of the country for years. There good to deal with for the mortgage. Haven't tried the bank side but if it's like the lending side it should be ok.

I had a REALLY bad experience with US Bank. Technically they're open on Saturday, but NO money, check or CASH (yes, they even held a cash deposit), is treated like it's deposited on Monday after all debits from the weekend are withdrawn. It's a REALLY bad place to do business with. I'd go with a credit union, there is no other banking institution I'd rather deal with.

Im just trying to find a decent bank. ATM fee's are pissin me off because my bank is either in Southridge mall or oak creek, and Im not going to the mall to do my banking. they are building a new one on rawson but its still kind of far just to go to the bank. SO I get hit with fees constantly

I heard a commercial on the radio today for them and they say they cover up to $60 a month I believe in ATM fees. :)

Locations were good for me, but after being with them since they were St. Francis in the 90's I've had enough of the name switching and they pissed us of one too many times. I'm with associated now. I don't worry about atm fees because I pick banks that are around where I'll be( home work etc)

I bank with Guaranty they are quite a pain in the ass sometimes but nothing a good kick in the teeth doesn't handle. They are open 7 days a week which is awesome and they've bended quite a few rules for me to stay a customer or theres so I say they are good. They have tons of locations just like tri city in the pick n saves and all. I just wish there was one RIGHT by my house vs having to driving down to 27th and layton.

I am at landmark CU.

Didn't National City file some type of bankruptcy not too long ago

They are headquartered in Cleveland, OH and I used to work in their data center back in the day.
My family has used NCB for decades, and I was only too happy to leave Citi when NCB opened a branch down the street from my house.
Every office feels like a small town bank and they know you by first name after a short time.
They are a top-notch organization, even though they used to pay someone like me for network development!
We have had nothing but good experiences at National City, and I would recommend them without hesitation.

i use a credit union.

maybe you could save on ATM fees if you plan ahead for the week and pull enough cash out one time, rather than $20 per time

I don't know if I'd use Landmark as now they offer Payday loans. I think this is the lowest form of lending money.

I have a car and a checkbook through Landmark. I pay 1.5% more than I could've through a national bank at the time (I'm at 6.95% at Landmark) but at the time I wanted to have an account through a local credit union and figured I'd get the car through them as well. Credit unions don't have to play by the same rules as actual banks so be careful with putting all your eggs in one basket.

Landmark behaves more like a bank than a credit union and has bank rates on stuff. I'd probably lean towards Guaranty or Chase.

Chase are kind of a bunch of asshats. You have to read the fine print. My girlfriend's car, for example, they said it'd be free to make online payments. We found out there was a catch. They have to be scheduled online payments. If you want to do one-time payments it's an extra $10. Or you can pay using a check for free. But you won't get the payment slip until 6 days before it is due. We just pay by check a month ahead of time (so we don't have to worry about being late on payments).

Associated Bank sucks ass. I've only been there twice in my life and both times I waited in there drive thru with a buddy of mine in line for over a hour. I just don't think they have the right people working for them.

I haven't seen a line at the drive-thru at any bank, in about 10 years.
With direct deposit and online banking everywhere, it just doesn't happen... you musta got caught in some rare shit :)
Or were at some ghetto AB's.

I had a home improvement loan with NCB for years and started banking with them about a month now, so far so good. As for the no ATM fee thingy, you need a specific type of checking account for that. You need deposit a certain amount of money each month to qualify.

As a bank manager for Johnson Bank obviously I believe that we are the best.

Where ever you go make sure they didn't buy into sub prime mortgages. That is what's causing these banks to fail. Experts believe in the next year or two that at least 100 more banks will fail.

Johnson Bank never did any sub prime garage and as such our mortgages are up 100% from last year and the last quarter in 2007 was our best quarter in company history. So all these other short sighted banks are doing bad and we're all getting bigger checks at profit sharing and hiring people like crazy because people finally realize that giving bad loans isn't good for business.

Credit Union!

Remember though, credit unions aren't FDIC insured.

I have a couple accounts with landmark, and also a few with Associated.

I like both! But landmark sucks if you ever travel, it's so nice to have Associated banks around every corner.

I used Associated for many years but wanted a closer bank so I switched to Guaranty. I couldn't be happier. I use the Muskego branch and it is open seven days a week. I have my car loan through them as well. I once screwed up my checking account (piss poor math skills) and they spent a couple of hours helping me figure it all out. Plus, all the women working there are smokin' HAWT!!!!!
