the last aod-e i did was the transgo it was in my 1994 soon there after it lost o/d, i am not blaming the kit at all tho,one of the accumulator springs were broken already before the install. then i went to a lentech aod-e

I will vouch for B&M. I recently installed one and very straight forward. Just sucks when you are installing one laying on the ground.

I found it through the local parts store. It was $35 or so.

I did the B&M in my low mile Mark 7 a couple years back, trans had like 80k I think and it shifted great for like 2 days and then it just went back to stock shift characteristics. Couple months later I got stuck in a snow bank and beat'er till she bit the big green weenie.

Got a $100 152k mile 92 XR7 trans that shifts out nice in there now and I'm leaving it be. Up to 90k miles on the car now.

I have used Baumans (http://www.becontrols.com/products/aodcat.htm) in both my AOD and my AOD-E. I like them. Easy to install, and if you need help you can call them and they will actually talk to you and try to help you. I have also used that expensive Transgo package. It works well, but not worth it IMO. Most shift kits will alow you to 'tune" just how hard of a shift you want. From mild to harsh.

Check out baumans sight, there is a lot of good info there.

Isn't that the point?

When I got my divorce my ex-wife tried taking my '74 Nova cause I got the appartment and the truck. They told her no cause she couldn't even drive the thing with the 4-speed and clutch I put in it. LOL

Go with the T-5 swap. If anything for added insurance down the road. :shades
