that doesnt make sense. the heavier vehicles would do more damage to the roads, so why tax the smaller ones?

They've done this in the metro Chicago area for years. I guess their current wheel tax is going about $75, plus an on street parking fee of about $120. Sucks to be from Chicago. The city of Milwaukee is looking for anything to raise funds in their coffers. Can't they just learn to manage money better? That's like me telling my Boss I need more money because I bought a bunch of expensive crap I didn't need.

After this winter if $20 a car will fix the roads I'll mail them $80 right now. However next year they will have no problem putting their hands out again. With all the condo development downtown there is more tax base then ever. Where is the money going???
