I'm just curious as to what this is....I've seen billions of M4s, M16s, M249s, 50 cals, shotguns....but not this. I see this guy at the PX in the morning and then another guy at the chow hall at night with the same weapon. (Except he had some monstrous scope on it) SO.....if someone can please feed my curiousity. Thanks

I recognize the ACOG on the back, but what's he got attached up by the muzzle?

It looks like a M21 with Acog and a PEQ 2 mounted on it. Maybe a PAQ 4 but looks to big.

M21 essentially equals M1A but full auto. I think they have been around since the mid 70's. On my list of firearms to purchase.

Actually I think you're thinking the M14. The M21 is a sniper setup based on the M1A/M14 and is semi-auto. Then there's the M25 which is an evolution of the M21. It looks too new to be an M14 though... so yeah, it's probably an M1A.

M21. The huge scope mentioned is a night scope. We had a version like that for our M2 50cals in Korea :rolf

I don't know if I would call the agog a night scope though. It is more of a low light scope since the reticles glow at night with tritium. For night it requires the AN-PVS 14 to be mounted in front on a rail system. I have a acog here at home and they are the best! Pretty cool with the 14's mounted with them too.
