This sounds like its gonna be alot of fun. There will be plenty of food and beverages! Heck I'll even bring my gas powered r/c car!

Thanks alot guys. I'm sitting on a webtv thing at the Rec center next to the battalion headquaters. There also an old tank from WW2. We're currently learning how to read the militarys TM's. Their like Chiltons on steriods! The bay that we do the work in is GIANT. The like 10 HEMTT's, about 10 PLS's, lots of hummers, and those new trucks that replaced the deuce and a half. Also theres 3 engine working areas. 1 area has the 6.2L hummer engine. Another area has the 12.0L PLS engine making 500hp and 1430ft lbs of tq(yeah its turbocharged). We will soon digging into those.

Well theres been some additions and changes but all for the better.

Comp Cams 270AHR Cam Valve Lift: .500 in. .510 ex.

Lobe Separation Angle: 114*

Duration: Adv. 270 in. 276 ex. @ .050 215 in. 220 ex.

( http://compcams.com/Technical/Catalogs/106-03/HTML/124-127.html ) Its the one ALL the way at the bottom 56-460-8

Comp Cams Pro Magnum 1.52 Roller Rockers

Comp Cams Pro Magnum Hydraulic Roller Lifters

Mach Performance Stage 3 Ported Heads

Granatelli Motorsports MAF

Be Cool Aluminum Radiator (Dang the box it cam in is heavier than the radiator)

SLP Y-pipe w/ full 3" single exhaust (going to be installed the following week)

So can anyone tell me how the idle will be, or anything else about the cam. It was the one the was recomended to me by the s10 guys running it already. Its says it will make power between 2000-5500rpm which is alot better than stock!

I hope theres more interest, we really would like to have someone show us how to degree the cam.

well, maybe I can stop by and meet a different group of guys IF nothing comes up (hey sorry if you guys are a default #2, but you never know if a cute girl might want to go out :goof )

I've got a cam degree wheel and dial gauge if you need it for degreeing that cam, plus I can talk you through it if needed.

BTW, a cam like that shouldn't be too wild...not too much lope, but a healthy increase in from stock performance wise. From the specs it seems to have a SLOW ramp, especially for a roller.

Hey Prince, if ya P/U a cute chick, bring her along!

there is plenty of space in this garage, REAL BIG!

3" na my next mod is the machperformance intercooled ATI procharger kit @10psi. Ah yes I can see it now stock LS1's kissing my taillights, including my uncle mike. :wooo :punch: j/k

Well if you are for sure coming please pm me. I need to know how much food to order. Also I would luv to use the cam degreeing wheel but I'm not skilled in that area so it may get hairy.

I will be there with any special tools, and service manual info required to complete work on the LF6/L35 Vortec 4300. Also i will bring auto tap or scanmaster to verify running conditions after wards. Oh that A/C condesnor/rad support is gonna make getting the cam out fun!!! If your doing the heads obviously you ll need new head bolts,i can come up with a torque wrench and magic marker. They use really stupid methods for head bolt torque i.e. torque to 22 ft/lbs then tighten another full turn in 1/4 turn increments LOL. And well be exposing the "octopuss" injection unit as well LOL.

If your next mod is a ATI Procharger, might want to think about ARP head studs, in that case they just have a torque and no degree after it. I.E. 95 ft.lbs not 70 ft.lbs. and 55 degrees more.

GTSLOW
12-12-2003, 09:45 PM
Already got the ARP headbolts! Just waiting for the heads to get here. Sofar we have the cam, lifters, radiator, MAF, and the Roller rockers.

Unfortunantly i dont own a cam degreeing wheel. You "should" be ok by just setting it up dot to dot. You would need an adjustable timing set and or degreeing bushings the cam sprocket to make degree adjustments anyway.

Hey Shane & Prince Val,

no need for degree wheel, as Nan does not have an adjustable cam gear.

We will resume assembly today, at 1pm, till 8PM about.

I would think that we should have her running by 8PM tonight.:rockwoot:

my cell phone is 414-322-0657,
if ya need directions.

Knock on the door, so we can let ya in.
mark (nan's dad) keeps it locked for some stupid reason.

Free Pizza & Soda, at around 4-5PM.

see ya there:shades
