I recently sold my WRX wagon and bought a 1986 Buick Grand National. It has 65k original miles. The paint isnt perfect but I plan on repainting it this winter.

Thanks, yes I actually found it in New Berlin, a collector had it with the intention of just driving it but never had the chance. its from Florida originally so its very clean. i just need to meet more local GN owners so i can learn more about these cars.

the plan is to go through and repaint the car this winter, re-do the interior and update it some. and then push the stock block to 500hp or so:devil

For 65k miles and previously being owned by a collector, it should be ;) . Looks great though, if thats factory paint could some elbow grease and Zaino make it look great again maybe? Worth a shot perhaps over a new paint job cost/time.

thats the only problem its not factory paint, its a really bad repaint. ill bring it out some weekend then it can be seen up close.

Let me give you some advice. Don't do ANYTHING to it. Don't even drive it more then a few times a year. It will be way more bad ass that way (and worth a heck of a lot more in the future).

I agree with Neil except I'd take it all apart, spread it all over the garage and just talk about driving it.........:D

Cool Car.........Say goodbuy to your savings account.............

Be happy its not a factory paintjob. These cars had a black lacquer paint from the factory that was prone to extreme "crows feet" and was terribly orange-peeled. If the car wasn't taken down to bare metal before, make sure you do when you repaint it, because the crows-feet will come back through a new paint job if not taken down to metal and done properly. There was even a silent recall on the paint on these things back in the late 80s... you don't want factory paint :)

Anyways, car looks great in the pics! I'd love to see it out sometime.

I REALLY like it. I'm a big fan of GN's even though I'm not a huge fan of how they sound. I wish I had room to have one.

bigger turbo, get the intercooler kit that spins it around and puts it infront of the radiator, some duttweiler exhaust and a chip, maybe a stall, she will fly
