From Wikipedia:
During the 1960s, other mechanical injection systems such as Hilborn were occasionally used on modified American V8 engines in various racing applications such as drag racing, oval racing, and road racing.[citation needed] These racing-derived systems were not suitable for everyday street use, having no provisions for low speed metering or even starting (fuel had to be squirted into the injector tubes while cranking the engine in order to start it). However they were a favorite in the aforementioned competition trials in which essentially wide-open throttle operation was prevalent.

I seen a working one once at a car show, looks awesome but the old guy that owned it said it takes tons of hours to get it to run decent. On another board I seen a "hilborn style" efi setup, looked just like the old one, still had all the linkages for the throttle blades but it used bosch style injectors which were pretty well hidden in the center.

Those Hillborns are more suited for WOT rather than the putting around you do 99.9% of the time....

I would suggest some bias ply tires, as well.

Should do well around town...

Thats one of the new EFI Hilborn setups, you can see the fuel rails and injectors in the center of that thing.

you'd be incorrect kev that is a hilborn setup. They are mechanically metered and work like EFI batch fire. They use a valve hooked to the throttle to meter fuel to a junction block which distributes the fuel to each cylinder.
