Ok I'm looking for a used truck, something fairly specific but not having much luck. So far Ive checked, Ebay, Craigslist, and AutoTrader. Anyone know of other good search sites for used vehicles? I would prefer to get it through a dealer so I can get a warrenty on it, but thats not necisarly a requirement.

Maybe on Autotrader try a larger search radius...

what are you looking for? There are a few people, myself included, who work at dealerships. Maybe one of us can help you out as well!

Ok, heres what I'm looking for. Chevy 97-00 K3500(1 ton 4x4) Reg Cab, long box, non dualy. With a 7.4L 454 and Auto Trans.

Options I would like but Im not super picky if the price is right. Power windows and locks, rear slider window, a/c, tow package. Prefered colors Black, Dark Blue, Gray, Red, Dark Green, but white, and pewter are ok too

I guess the whole warrenty thing was asking a little much given the year. But I would like something close to or less than 100k miles. Again if the price is right I may be willing to deal with more.

Theres tons of K3500 out there but not many in this combo, most are crew cab or dualy, or they have a 350 or a 6.5 in them... I found one so far at a dealer that s going for $10g, but I would like to find something lower than that being that it is going to be 8+ years old.

I had the distance on autotrader set to any distance, and I used CL helper to search CL nation wide. I would have no problem taking my bike cross country to pick the thing up if needed.

Oh yeah, forgot one thing. If it has a plow on it that would be a nice bonus, but not really needed. :thumbsup

Thats exacly what I'm looking for, but even it its rare its not worth $13g with 118k miles on it.

I found a white one on carsoup that has a cap and plow at $5500 obo, the bad part, its got 209k miles on it. Going to call the guy and see what he says.

Just talked to the guy at the dealer ship, I didn't see the little note but this truck comes with a boss v plow, and the guy says there willing to work on the price because its been there a while and its hard to sell a plow truck in summer. And because its a dealership they take trades so I could unload my Zr5 at the same time hopefully.

The one I found on car soup has more little options but it has way to many miles, and a straight blade plow, and on top of that the people don't answer or return messages.

I'm hoping to go look at the one you posted this sat. Thanks.

I do know of a friend selling a 2000 K3500 SRW, but its a crew cab and its fully loaded with leather and all that, but it does have the 7.4, but I don't think you are looking for a crew cab.

When I bought my truck last Feb. I had some very specific requirements too. I had to do a nation wide search via Autotrader just to get 10 hits. I ended up buying my truck in New Hampshire, flying out to finalize the deal and driving it home.

Same here, nation wide it comes back with about 30, then about 10 are crew cabs, 10 dualys and about 9 that have a 5.7 leaving me with maybe 1 if Im lucky that meets what I want.

ok, got another question on this. My current truck has a lein on the title for the loan. I need to sell it to pay that off. Whats the best way to do that if Im going to sell it on my own? have them pay me, sign over the title and then mail them the thing from the bank saying the lein is cleared?

If you're bank is local they might be able to go right to the bank with you and get a lien release there.

johnny--2k

Yup...you can not sell a car with a lien private party, otherwise the buyer cant get it titled without that. Go right to your bank, pay it off, and they can stamp the title as PAID.

^what he said. when i bought my last mustang, the seller and i drove the car to his bank, he paid the balance on the lien, they gave me a slip to take to the dmv, and everyone was happy

The guy is really hard to get ahold of, seems like he only returns messages on weekends or something ? I guess I just have to wait and see.

Picked up the truck from MN yesterday. Its the one that I found on Carsoup. Its pretty dirty right now and needs a good tune up and general once over. Once I get all that done I will post pics of the beast in the Photo section.
