Whoa.. I wonder what they will sell for every day..

I've noticed the GT500s are goin for MSRP now.. All those people who paid $15k or more over sticker must feel pretty stupid now..

Ive watched cars at Barrett-Jackson sell for 5+ million when I was there.

1 mil is not surprising.

BTW, 9 zero's = billion.

I'm amazed what people will pay just to have the first of something  . Not to mention when it comes to automobiles I'd want to wait and see if any issues come up after they start hitting the streets.....

Well, if GM ever "officially" launches the Camaro I will need to find new material. For now though, (and if the economy stays the way it is, possibly forever) it's still good:rolf

Whoever bought it will just put it up on blocks in a heated storage facility...........and sell it in 20 years for $200,000 after he realizes that he will NEVER get 1/2 of what he bought it for.

I think you're just salty because the Mustang was around BEFORE the Camaro, and now it's still here after the Camaro went the way of the dodo. Don't worry, some species evolve, some just go away, it's a natural process, nothing to be angry about. As lil Ry (boosted91pony) would say, jelousy is a stinky cologne:rolf

Not the same cars.. Not even in the same league.. One has a sticker of $40k.. One has a sticker of $100k..

Just making a point how people will pay more to be first and a year later they will loose their asses..

I've been watching the net.. People are trying to sell some of the first GT500s sold and they want more for a used one than new 08s are selling for.. It's funny as hell IMO..

You have 1 billion in the title...

but yea thats a lot of money for the car... someone probably just wanted to give a bunch to charity... I wonder if this counts as a charitable donation for tax purposes?!

It's a million dollar charitable tax write off. They do them all the time.

And according to Jalopnik Chevy dealerships are already demanding double MSRP and more for dealer markups.

Yea thats what I figured. Although I'd bet you still have to claim the value of the corvette (likely MSRP) as income that tax year as well.

But hey if you planned to give a bunch to charity anyways it is kind of cool. You get to be "that guy that bought the 1 million dollar vette".

Must be nice to be ridiculously loaded. :banana

The guy that bought it last name is Ressler. I believe it is Dave Ressler. He owns a Chevy dealership if I am not mistaken. Huge Corvette collector. Typically buys up any Callaway that runs across the block.
