I like sonic. Everytime I go home to charlotte we visit them a couple times. Its really wierd to walk into one and order food through a automated speaker and have zero contact with people till they bring it out.

P.S. Driving a no cat mustang through a sonic late night in a city where no cats is illegal will get TONS OF LOOKS!!! Jealous bastards LMAO

Oddly, for as many sonic's that are around in places I frequently travel too (FL and TX), I've yet to try them, despite the fact they look great.

More burger choice around here is not a bad thing....although it'd be nice to get an In n' Out...quite simply, they make a great burger.

Red Robin is great...I wouldn't mind a different atmosphere though. The Red Robin Royal (the one with the egg) is a GREAT burger. Actually, many of their gourmet burgers are terrific.

I like white castle...not because it's great, because it's not. It's unique. It's funny that it's a craving that'll come like every 3-6 months, and I'll need it. After eating it though, I feel dirty every time, lol.

Dude! I know exactly what you mean!

The White Castle burgers are some of the strangest things that you can eat. I am not prepared to tell anyone in my family that I have actually eaten their food. But every few months, I gotta have some. I went to Lake Geneva a few weeks ago, so I had to stop there. They messed up my order when I said 'no ketchup' (should have used a double-negative...one negative isn't enough). Now I wonder if the craving will come sooner or later next time.

As for the dirty part, if I eat more than 4 regular sliders, I better have a shitter near by.

First area Sonic Drive-In to open here

The Plan Commission will consider plans Wednesday to open the area's first Sonic Drive-In restaurant at the Shoppes of Fox River, the new outdoor shopping center being built on Sunset Drive.

There's a raging debate going on among hamburger heads about whether this could be the first Sonic in Wisconsin. Can't say. A Sonic rep. told me that the nearest Sonic is west of Chicago.

There are more PickenSlaves than bus stops in Waukesha. Three Sentrys have closed that I know of. PickenSlaves sale prices are HIGHER THAN the Upper Peninsula of Michigan's normal prices. And everything to dayoop has a 6 hour truck ride.

I'd like to see a Meijer or Kroger here. They'd clean house. They're 15% companies like Costco. It'd at least cause Pick'me'as'a'slave to clean up their act. Then again, the Super WallyWorld on 59 might instigate that.

afraid you are incorrect Wayne. for a new "chain" to get into Wisconsin, they gotta get by Roundys and all their crap. once Jewel pushed out, no "chain" has made it into the state. Roundys will fight tooth and nail to allow it, the ownership group want to sell, badly at this point, and they'll make sure the only way someone gets in, is to buy Roundys. they were asking too much when buisness was at peak, and now its going down, and they're STILL asking too much. Kroger almost took it over but they balked at the price. the day this group sells us off to someone who had a clue, will be a GREAT day for wisconsin, and an even better day for wisconsin consumers.

Isn't CostCo just like Meijer ? Where did they just open one of those ? Grafton ?

The Jewels just kinda sucked to me.
I like supporting local business's and I think Roundy's is that. A lot of good foodstuffs are made in WI and Roundy's also kinda supports/promotes WI made foodstuffs.
Prices between most chains seem about the same here.
Sentry, Wally World and the Pig suck. IMO
I am also partial to Roundys as I have gone to the same store for the last 15 years I been grocery shopping, so I know where everything is.

yeah theres a costco in grafton. problem with what you are saying is, Roundys is now starting to go to NON local. the firm that owns us is from chicago, and we're getting all kinds of BS stuff from illinois instead of from hometown wisconsin. its mostly products people don't notice, but we notice this stuff. Woodmans is a very good setup, if you are impartial to quality. Woodman runs all his stores in CASH, he does his startup in cash too, hence why he has so few stores. he gets his deals in huge bulk supply, so if Frito-Lay gives him a deal, he's got a ton of good chips. if not, you get some off brand. if you're picky you'll starve there too. working class meat-n-potatos type people are all over Woodmans. i hope he opens another one soon, up this way on the north side. Roundys needs legitimate competition in order to change their ways.

Meijer store #113 in my hometown. Opened in the early 90s... at that time it was the smallest Meijer they ever opened. Two years ago they expanded it by about 60% and it's now the same size as other Meijers.

Since Meijer opened so has a Wal-mart Supercenter and a Kroger. Meijer is still jam-packed any day of the week. Wal-mart has turned into the ghettofabulous home and Meijer has turned into a working man's store.

Roundy's needs some real competition. Sentry is a joke.

Sendiks is already here wayne, have been for almost as long as roundys!! its nothing to do with food supply, its politics. Jewel managed to get their butts here, and failed. miserably. Hy-Vee has been trying for years to get in, so has the chain that owns Heb in texas and such, but low and behold, it hasn't happened. Roundys is a damn staple in the wisconsin economy, have been for a long time, the amount of pull a company like that has is ridiculous. a large retail chain company will run into nothing but problems trying to get in. the locals do fine, hence why woodmans does fine, sentry is still non-corporate. the next bigger ones are like Marketplace foods, and a few others, which have the markets WAY up north, where Roundys doesn't want to touch. Costco got in easily because their main competitor is big bad Wally World, not a local company. trust me, i'd love to see a company come in and whoop our asses at Roundys. we need it, the quality had gone down and down. the only better thing would be if the current ownership group sells, to a reputable company.
