Well last night my Dad and I finished getting the last of the stuff we wanted off of our 1978 Formula Firebird. My Mom bought the car brand new in 1977 from her Dad's dealership and ordered it special with the Chevrolet 350 and turbo 350 with black interior/exterior. Unfortunately, it was the only car my parents had for some years and it saw many a Wisconsin winter. It was the car I was brought home from the hospital in. Its been about ten years since it was on the road. In 1997 my Dad got rear ended and after that the floor pan and sub-frame when to hell. The rear shocks are all the way through the trunk and the rocker boxes are non-existent ... anyway onto the pictures:

I left that detail out, the engine and trans will be used in either my Dad's 1940 Ford Coupe or my 1946 Ford Convertible

Are you sending it to that collector on 84th & Forest Home ? :D

It sucks wearing out/trashing and having to junk out a car you love or have had around for ever, they really are almost like part of the family. But they are for using and driving IMO and it looks like yours folks got all their use and money out of that car and created a lot of good memories which most all of you will have for a long long time.

I kinda want to put the motor in a 70-73 camaro just to keep the bloodlines going.

LOL if that was a 69 Camaro or a 70 Chevelle it would be restored.

It would more than likely be a parts car, there just too much. When the car gets jacked up the fenders collapse over the doors because the mounts for the sub-frame are gone. Both rocker boxes are toast. The rear springs are through the trunk all the way to the speaker deck. Both doors are shot. A-pillars are rotten around and down into behind the dash. Both quarters are toast. The floor in the trunk. The floor by the drivers feet. The rear of the trunk below the wing is swiss cheese along with the damage from getting rear ended. Only a blind man could be talked into restoring it, even if it was a Chevelle. There is just nothing left.

Did you knock the VIN tag out of the car to keep??

is there a reason I should? I kept the build sheet from the rear seat along with the body trim tag.

I just mentioned it because you never know. This past spring at Jefferson there was a totally F'ed up 70ish Nova on an open trailer. I mean looked like it was hit by a train. But it was an original 350 4speed car...$1200. Saw a guy go to the cheap tool guy and bought a hammer and a punch. Give the seller $1200, knocked the tags off of it, said thank you and walked away.

I guess, but I don't really know where all the tags are besides the dash and engine/trans
