Kz650?

I can pick up a KZ650 in great condition, except it still has points ignition and won't run, for $200. Is it worth my time? It looks like I can get a Dyna S ignition for about $150 shipped.

I don't know anything about bikes anymore and what I did know was limited to the non-asphalt kind.

My girlfriend would probably scream at me for picking up a bike... and I'm not really that interested other than it'd be a cheap commuter for next year. I haven't been on a bike in like 5 years.

If you think you can get it running I'd say its worth it, if you don't mind wrenching.

I think those bikes we're made from 1976 though 1980. Should be simple enough to work on.

Anything that old, start by taking the carbs out and replace the jets. Remove the mouse nest from the air filter. Probably fire right up.

Nothing is wrong with the points, clean the carbs and it will run like new.

I have been trying to get my 83 KZ550 LTD running for a while now. Even took it to my dads mechanic and he said its not even worth fixing. I guess theres some electrical probs with mine though. Have fun with it if you do get it running though!

My dad got 2 bikes awhile back from a buddy and some guy off craigslist needed a couple parts and he bought both for $500! I say buy it to resell it some parts go high!
