Flew the entire family out to D.C. for vacation last week because end of summer vacations were just too damn hot. Well, that apparently made no difference since it was hot as hell in D.C. last week.

The kids had never flown before and with 6 kids I expected one to get sick but nope, they were too busy playing their gameboys and looking out the window. Their big surprise was a stretch limo I had waiting to take us from Baltimore to D.C. and quite frankly that is the one thing they talk about more than anything.

Our hotel was 5 blocks north of the White House and we were close to 2 Metro subway stations but damn, there is still a lot of walking to do.

Overall, a good, fun vacation that everyone enjoyed and will remember for quite some time. Oh, and lots of picture taking opportunities. Here are just a few but be sure to check the rest out in the gallery; http://www.webtrendsguy.com/images/dc/

The much spoken of limo to D.C.. The one back to Baltimore was a stretch Excursion but the car I think had a better lay out.

If I would have had the 100-400 I would have been able to look right in those windows

One of my favorite shots. The rotunda in the capitol. On the full size version you can zoom in and read all the writing.

Some great clear skies the days we were there, a bit hazy later in the week

Camera I took was my 1DsMKII. Was going to just take my 20D but knew I would be kicking myself in low light for not bringing the bigger cam. Airport sec folks get real nervous looking at my camera bag stuffed with glass and electronics in the xray.

I had wanted to get to Arlington Memorial, the Pentagon and numerous other places but everything is so time consuming, but in a good way. The days just fly by.
