came across the site the other day so i thought id join.
currently been modifying/restoring my 73 240Z for the past 2 years.

a little info on the car
engine L28 inline 6 out of an 83 280ZX converted to carbs, 5 speed trans out of a 78 280Z, R200 rear end out of an 82 280ZX N/A 5speed. and tons more modifications. its not fast, and i dont race.

ive had this car stripped down on 2 seperate occassions. all of the wrenching was done by myself along with custom work, with the aid of an occassional friend or 2 when i needs a few more hands.

i tend to check out the cruise nights on wed. and the classic car shows. i pretty much get hated because its an import..but i still go.

anyways heres a few pics..

wow..thanks for all the fast replies and compliments. i fired the car back up for the first time last nite, so it should be hitting the road this weekend. just got done re-doing my whole fuel set up. (holley pump, fpr, xrp braided lined, aeroquip fittings and custom own fuel rail.)

also, i sorta know of flicktitty already. hes on the zcrew forum that i help run.

Troutman, you have a very nice car. Can't stand the haters out there that bug you about it. I like big American iron, but I do have to say I appreciate auto technology in any make, especially one as nice as yours. That engine is clean. A very nice Fairlady indeed.

Fantastic Datsun! Great craftmanship and attention to detail!

Speaking of other wednesday night/evening car groups, there is another ==

The "wednesday night club" that meets on Wednesdays at 6pm at Kopps Frozen Custard on Bluemound Ave/Brookfield Road in Brookfield. It usually is a group of RX-7's, Supras, NSX's, 300ZX's, Evos, Ferraris, Vipers, etc.

I have done stuff with them for the last 5 years or so, and they are a great bunch of guys that are all car lovers! I am sure they would enjoy meeting you.

When my car is back up and running, I usually stop down every wednesday that is good weather.

Wow, is that clean. I'm used to seeing ones that look like a rusty golfball doing Rally in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I'm impressed with all the attention to details and how clean it is.

thanks for all the replies. more pics can be found on my myspace page if anyone is interested and has an account www.myspace.com/thetroutman

in an attempt to answer all the questions..

-i believe i was at mitchells last year, but im not sure. there arent too many old white 240Zs around so it probably was me.
-i needed help with the carb sync. this was my first project that involved carbs, so i really didnt know a whole lot. i have a good friend thats very knowledgeable so he lended a hand.
-yes its POR-15 black. the entire underbody and interior is covered in it.
(i dont even wanna know how much ive spent all that stuff.)
did you have any problems with tiny air bubbles? i had no problems using the satin black but the gloss stuff had numerous issues
- ill have to check out the Kopps sometime... maybe next week

ive been in a few conversations with people at various shows/meets, etc and your car has come up. never have seem to run into you though

i paint the flares same as the bodycolor.

im registered on hybrid and classiczcars, but i never go on there or post
