I'm up for my 3 month review at my body shop and need some advice. This is the first time ever working in a body shop. I'm the assistant manager and do all of the parts ordering and distributing, dispatching, calling in supplements, dealing with insurance companies and customers, writing estimates, starting all repair orders and paperwork, billing, etc. It's a M-F job, 8-6 and I get paid hourly. Without telling you how much I make, what do you think my job is worth? I've tried searching on to find out how much people with similar positions make, but came up with nothing. I just want to know how much more I should be asking for when I go in my GM's office later!:headbang

Thanks!!

Brian

I'd say at least 13 a hour. But, I don't remember how much you get paid already. I would ask for 15 but settle for 13.

Hell no you go in there and demand a pay rise of at least 20 hr:thumbsup

If they say no then you ask for your job back at a lower pay:headbang

ask for $1 - $2.50 more than what you make now.. all he can do is say no or offer you something else..

Keep in mind that we are a very busy shop. I'm normally busy all day, and I rarely take breaks because there's just not enough time to do so. Oh, and I'm already thinking about a 2.0% bonus on gross profit for the month. Average profit for our shop is about $32,000 per month.

What??

if its a big company and you have tons of work or are doing the work of 2 people than ask for more... all he can really say is no or how about this or that... its just up to you on what you ask for as we dont know what you make now so its hard to judge..... if youve taken on more and more responsabilities since youve started explain that to him and why you think you should get "x" amount more....

13 an hour sounds like a fair wage for that position, depending on expierence ( which you have none before this job it sounds like ) and job performance.

agreed at $12-13, maybe a bit less if they turn a lot of people over (large place). I would expect a $0.50 raise or so after 90 days. This is what my company does. One year raise is usually the bigger one (5%-ish). Start getting in on a 401k or tuition repayment or whatever other free money you can get from them.
