Is the a short block or long block that can be swapped into a 1987 corvette with the L98 engine in it and still use the stock intake and computer, or at least still use the stock computer?? I have read that the ZZ383 that summit has will work but I'm not sure. This is for my neighbour’s car he just blew it up.

One of the concerns he has is the oil dip stick location, I'm not sure but I thought for some reason it is on the opposite side from the norm. I think he is worried about it because of the tight space it sits in an some other fitment issues.

pretty much any 87 and up 350 would work fine. heads, cam, intake all that will bolt right up.

If he's looking completely bolt on no work necessary he'll atleast have to be carefull of the heads and the whole bolt angle change done for the intake. I'm pretty sure TPI's have the more upright center intake holes, compared to the old style.

I'm pretty sure most of the cheap generic shortblocks will have the Pre 87 type heads so he'd need to do some grinding and modifying to get the TPI intake to bolt up properly.

Hopefully his heads didn't get wiped out when the engine went. The vette L98 had aluminum heads. Even if you found an engine out of a camaro with the Iron L98 heads it would run like crap with the stock tune, probably have alot of issues with knock.

he'd just have to use a 85-86 TPI Lower Intake Manifold, the rest is the same. I did this on my old TA
