well, time to get another car. Evo is turning into a dedicated TT car so now its not street legal :rolf

what can I get as a good DD, decent gas mileage ( I dont drive that much, maybe 1-2 a week since I walk to work and walk to everything else )

what I plan on doing with the car is daily drive it, and auto X it ( light mods )

what I want
manual
RWD or AWD
handles well
PREFER forced induction
PREFER 4door
decent gas mileage
something newer than 2002
under 20k ( prefer under 15 )
under 30k miles ( hopefully )

options that I would like, HID's, leather, moonroof forsure

let me know what you can think of

IMO with current gas prices you should just get a civic and call it a day.

Otherwise WRX looks like it might fit the bill nicely.

not for the options he wants and mileage....

Deggy

I agree with getting a Civic or some sort of 4cyl with gas prices. I know it isn't RWD/AWD like you want, but if you are DDing it, why the hell not.

Well, yeah, I figured that out, but does he really want to go to 200+ miles, or even 90 miles for the heavily modified one in downers grove? And how many miles are on that one (body wise)? Gotta be high miles to get that price...

I was trying to keep it somewhat local.

All I am saying is they are available, it fits what he is looking for. No real need to argue about it.

Here is a quick search on cars.com. Think some of these are even local.

(Price not listed but should be under 20) http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNumber=1&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=ascending&sortfield=MILES+ascending%2cPRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-%7cE-%7cM-_45_%7cB-20000%7cD-_408_%7cN-N%7cR-250%7cI-1%7cP-MILES+ascending%2cPRICE+descending%7cQ-ascending%7cZ-53208&aff=national&paId=276736468&recnum=52&leadExists=true

mileage and price not be right where you want but i know you can find a NICE 03-05 Audi A4 with either a 1.8T or a 3.0L V6 with 30ish K miles for around the 15-25K mark. i would look into a USP (ultra sport package) myself bigger rims/aero kit/ etc.

60K miles 03 A4 with some mods

i vote that cause it's modable. It's a NICE car not another boy racer car. AWD for winter a lil 1.8T is still good on gas. 6spd! or auto if you perfer.

if you decided to look into the Audi scene more jump over to www.audizine.com and take a look at whats for sale. or tonight i will look around what meets your wants.

My recommendation for a car is to take that MEGA Z06 with the sah-weet powdercoated wheels and drop a C5R block in there with all the goodies from your friend who owns PAW automotive.
Then, talk to your girlfriend's father, who founded Vortech, and get the hookup on a hairdryer.
I know you can get Brembos for free, so there are your brakes.
Paint a name on the car, but make it the same one as your yacht so those at the country club will know that you have sweet toys.
Since you run AT&T's broadband arm, or at least the Midwest region, you must have underground parking at work.
At home, you can park it next to that badazz evo that is painted the same color as Wonder Woman's jet.

Do not get an A4 with an auto and the 1.8T. Even with the sportronic, or whatever they call it, they're ******* dogs. I drove my brother-in-laws this weekend, and was severally disappointed. It'd be much more fun with the manual, they're nice cars and all, I just wasn't too impressed with the car at all.

We're going to be putting my wife's '05 WRX Wagon up for sale soon if you're interested in that (not sure how you feel about wagons though). It's in real nice shape, never modded, etc. Great for haulin stuff around or haulin-azz. :D

My advice given the parameters of RWD, forced induction, manual trans, price b/w 20-30G:

Hyundai Genesis Coupe:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e6/Genesiscoupe2.jpg/250px-Genesiscoupe2.jpghttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ec/Genesiscoupe.jpg/342px-Genesiscoupe.jpg

Get it with the standard manual trans and turbo 2.0 4 banger if forced induction is prefered (220+hp/220ft-lbs) torque and you want better mileage for less (Under 20G to start).

Otherwise, opt for the 3.8 v6 w/ 306hp, 266ft-lbs of torque...starts at 25,900.

Cars won't be available however until next year as a 2010 model. But, you get a new car with a great warranty.

My advice given the parameters of RWD, forced induction, manual trans, price b/w 20-30G:

Hyundai Genesis Coupe:

Get it with the standard manual trans and turbo 2.0 4 banger if forced induction is prefered (220+hp/220ft-lbs) torque and you want better mileage for less (Under 20G to start).

Otherwise, opt for the 3.8 v6 w/ 306hp, 266ft-lbs of torque...starts at 25,900.

Cars won't be available however until next year as a 2010 model. But, you get a new car with a great warranty.

Actually it's the mitsu/mopar one...it's a joint venture engine. Same one from the evo is also, albeit with a longer stroke, in the SRT-4 caliber.
