Out on our 60mph scooters today the wife took a dump
at 35+ mph, 3 cracked ribs and missing skin on her arms
she's fine. I'll post some pics of her helmet if I get a chance
but the 6hrs in the ER room was nothing next to the hit
her helmet took.

We all know they work, I never wear one......until following
the ambulance today on my scooter, then riding her scraped
up one home. Thing I'll be wearing mine all the time from now
on!

wow, glad to hear that shes alright for the most part. I let my buddy drive my Honda Elite a few weeks ago while wearing my full race leathers as a joke. Well needless to say this whole scenario was doomed from the beginning....

As everyone on this board knows im a big supporter of the proper gear. Glad your wife is ok. 35mph and broke 3 ribs though? Did she hit somthing?

I welcome photos of carnage.

These kind of stories push out those thoughts of just going on that short cruise without one. Glad to hear she is ok!

Helmets FTW, I never ride without mine. Hope your wife has a speedy recovery and that she isn't afraid to get back on the scooter when shes better.

.

She read this and said "I hit the F-ing concrete!" :)

Im guessing at the speed, I was decelerating for a stop sign
and as I turned to look back her scooter was sliding sideways
fast enough for me to swerve from it taking me out (I was
doing 30 or so).

To much front bias braking on her part is my conclusion, she
may very well been doing an endo from what she remembers
so it may have been a launching fall :wooo

Glad to hear she's okay...I always where the helmet even though I probably rarely go over 30 mph on the bicycle, lol. Saved me a couple times on the trail's, no doubt.
