Put the GTO on the dyno at Beeyond yesterday.....

Max Power = 281.2hp @ 6200rpm (redline)
Max Trq = 294.9 Ft/lbs @ 4450rpm

Guess its not bad for being 95% stock (T/B coolant bypass, descreened MAF, Lingenfelter Intake) I've been to lazy to do anything with HPT (have to buy credits yet), and need to pick up some exhaust so I can put my 05/06 rear bumper on...... once its paid off though, we'll see what I can get it to put down.

But I do miss my Turbo LD9 :(

GAh not bad for mostly stock :thumbsup but that is a bit of a punch in the mommy daddy button when you think of the cavvie's numbers

I agree. Max HP is not made at redline from this motor in stock form.

well this would explain why the 5.7s GTOs are so slow... not trying to rip on your GTO or anything. I have never seen O.E numbers, cause everyones mods the right away.

dunno what kinda dyno that is but 04's usually do 300-310ish and 05-06 usually 330-340 stock on a dyno.

peaks should be around 5200/4000 on a LS1 and 6000/4400 on an LS2.

"Stock" ratings for an 04 are 350hp/365tq, 05-06 are 400hp/400tq

Personally I think my numbers are a bit low.
I'm sure once he starts modding, he'll whip my azz.

eh mine only dynod at 365 rwhp/364tq with a cam and intake and full exhaust.. the guys at speed inc said it was low for that cam and all the other mods i have.. guess i got a POS and not one of the factory freaks...
i would like to get over 400rwhp all motor some day........

I went for the GMM Shifter with a Lou's Short stick ---- BUT it does have a Hurst ball.

On the dyno (mustang dyno) it showed it was pulling right to redline (6200), not leveling off before.

Yea, the guys I went with all dynoed less then they did last year, with more mods this time...... on the same dyno. (in one case, almost 30hp less)


Also, the numbers I posted are from the sheet they gave me (pull number 5), I did see 295hp/314trq at one point but they said something about the dyno spiking from the car slipping or something..... IDK, it's an import shop, not a muscle car shop ;)

Put it on a known good dyno and go from there. Either that dyno is FUBAR or there's something wrong with your car.

i know a certain cobalt owner.. who should have been at least 280 hp or above that dynoed less then last year my self.. its hard to believe because i went for a ride in that car a few weeks back and it didnt feel anything like a 220's hp car..

This is why I don't put stock in anyone's dyno numbers. Dyno's are for modding and tunning purposes (even then, only on the same dyno)...and entertainment.

Mine was 315 stock at 5700. I have no idea what I'm at now with bolt on's tune and Juice.

I have seen numbers all over the place with 04's. Like Dan posted as low as 290 and as high as 321. Depending on type of Mustang or dyno jet It really varies.

Its always about numbers and some one is always faster. Hell mines a garage queen so it doesn't matter. :)

Looking on LS1GOT.com, I came across some numbers up a bit from mine.....


2004 GTO M6 Black/Black
LM2, Lingenfelter CAI, sniper tune, LS7 clutch & flywheel, GMM ripshift race

313 rwhp / 321 rwtq
13.981 at 101 mph.

I'm sure with a good tune, I can beat his hp/trq numbers, and we'll just see if I can beat his 13.9 :headbang


I do have some plans for this thing..... one, put me on a diet (splurge and purge baby!!!)..... ok, maybe my car has more weight to loose then I do, but they dont make many nice C/F parts for it. Two, 3" exhaust (need to get my '05 bumper on DAMN IT!). And Three..... Turbo. Two of them.... (then comes four..... trans, drive shaft, rear end, axles, drag bags, bushings, tires......wtf)
