I need ideas ASAP. My dad usually just buys something if he needs it, so i need ideas. I bought my mom a nice gift cert. for a very nice resturant, so that they could enjoy some drinks before dinner, and then dinner. And all of its covered.

So what can i do for my pa?

Im buying my dad a nice brewers jersey and taking him to a brewers game. I might also take him to the dog track and we can go there and have a little fun. Not sure what your dad is like but I am sure mine will like that gift.

well he is a huge hunter, and has a BIG hunt coming up. I think they are flying into Canada for Caraboo later this year. And all he didnt have was a nice GPS but he bought that.

Hookers would be nice im sure, but they bring big $$$$ around here. damn Sluts!

not trying to steal the thread but I went on a carribou hunt a few years ago up in northern quebec. I would get him a range finder if he doesnt have one. That will help out big time. Find out what camp he is staying at. I can give him some advice if he never did it before its a lot of work.

They have a big group going up. ALl friends and hunting buddies. The campthey are going with is pretty big time up there. And they promise a 90% sucess rate :wow But ill get the name of it when he comes home. They sent video tapes/hats/ background book with the area, pictures of the terrain and stuff

And my dad is absolutely amazing hunter and a hella good shot, so i think he'll do just fine. Growing up with him teaching me all kinds of stuff in the woods just blows me away.

Although my bro and I are also very good shots, and i have a new 7mm that is bagging me to be shot. Its just too purrdy to get dirty :thumbsup

get him a subscrition to playboy. He could take those on the camping trip and tell the jokes from the joke section around the camp fire.

lol funny story we did that at deer hunting camp last year. Actully we have about 120mags from College girls to Special Anniv to you name it. From when my Grandfather owned a Sentry store and had a big mag rack. My Grandpa would take the mags and bring them up north for all the guys to look at while hunting LOL

But we were looking for the little playboy bunny symbols on the covers. it was a big competition while food was cooking. :headbang

You mean Caribou like this? THis was last years big hunt. I will never do it again, other then the drive up there on the ice roads it is no challenge. The damn things travel in a congo line and if your not really carefull you will hit one on the way up there.

.300 Win Ultra Mag and they dont go far......

You can ask for tips if your not to good for that..... :stare

If they can see there own pecker, they will shoot a caribou :stare As long as they dont miss the migration or have a crappy outfitter. November is prime time....

Im pretty sure thats when they are going. I remember when the outfitter called the house and talked to my dad, he said if mother nature doesnt play any games, his biggest challenge that they will have is trying to pick through all of them on which one he wants to shoot. That would be pretty cool. Maybe this will be a good reason to buy a nice Digi Camera. I just hope they work well at real cold temps. I know yours did, but i would hate to buy a real nice one and have it break :(

Those pictures were taken with a 5 year old Nikon Coolpix 4300, nothing fancy at todays standards whatsoever. I had no problems with it. One of the 4 we shot was a double shovel, very rare. Its at the taxidermy man....

My first buck that the taxidermy absolutely butchered his neck size. We measured 4" bigger when i shot it than what size foam she went with. Man was i pissed. :flipoff2:

Part of our wall of fame,

The one kinda top left, next to the window....was a mutan buck and had horns just like a Moose. Its one giant horn with (5) 1/2" points!!! Crazyness

A bear he shot also a turkey, and the buck he shot that is a MONSTER!

Thats what happend to us. We missed the migration and had a tough time. First day we saw like 50 so we thought that they were still around next 2 days nothing on the last day we shot one that was all by itself. Did you guys almost hit them on the road. I swear they are dumb animals they dont move when you are driving through. Also where did you stay on the way up. We stayed in Raddison the last main town before no mans land.

I got a 350lb black bear last year in May in canada and a Moose the year before with a 48" spread. Another year and that moose would have been a hell of a trophy. The moose and bear hunt were both with bow, not gun.

Pain in the ass to deal with the moose though, have to quarter the ***** up in the middle of the woods. Those bugs are nothing nice. If you dont have a hell of a fly suit they will eat you alive. Literally!

Stayed at the Mirage outfitters lodge. And yes, you can see by the pictures the ****ers are all over the road. 28 hours straight through.
