This is a campground resort out near Watertown (oh the irony). It's on the banks of the Crawfish River. We own a lot and keep our travel trailer there. We have spent the better part of the last 3 years improving, maintaining, and fixing up our little piece of property within the resort.

Guess Ma' Nature thought we oughtta start over...

Some old before pics.... (obviously... that was 4 trucks ago, LOL)

I ran up there 4 hours ago because our "neighbors" out there called me and said the park flooded this morning when a dam up river was compromised....

Damn near a foot of water inside my shed. Lawn mower is under water. Fridge inside shed flooded with almost a foot of water (seal was iffy). All the timber trim we had is floating on top the water. Fortunately, the water is atill about a foot under the trailer. Alot of other folks out there are in worse shape than we are...

Nice lookin little deal ya got there, that lawnmower will probably survive with a little prompt attention.

Do you happen to know the name of the yellow color on the Ford ?

True. Most of it at this point will be mostly sweat labor. If the river crests too much in the next couple days and the water gets into the trailer, well then it's a different story.

Well, that place is officially FUBAR....

The wife, a buddy, and I took a little paddleboat back thru the park this morning. All I can say is WOW and let the pics do the talking.....

The stuff we were floating through could hardly be called water. People's holding tanks were dislodged and capsized, golf carts' gas and oil in there, not to mention tons (literally) of LP that made its way in there when all the tanks floated away and dislosged themselves from the trailers...

Apparently, there is an e-coli warning now in the park we were told... after we got back from our little adventure.

Wow, sorry to see this man. That Crawfish just doesn't seem to want to go down, I spent 1.5 hours just waiting in line to get through the detour on 94 because of it and then had ample time to see that it really hasn't moved much lately.

How long are they saying before it recedes back to "normal" levels?

At this rate, they predict the river will be well above flood stage for several weeks. And even at that, I'm sure the roads in the campground will be impassable for a while. We need to get the trailer out of there before they can pay out on our claim but I don't see that happening much before August....

hopefully insurance will cover the losses.

Our insurance is supposed to cover our trailer via Comprehensive coverage since it's a moveable RV (according to our agent and the claims representative...). The personal property.. not so much. The people with the uber expensive "Park Models" are almost certainly screwed....

Be my guest and give er a rip if you're bored... but I can assure you it ain't happenin :goof

In all seriousness, you wouldn't even get to it and the health risks aren't even close to worth it.

That thing weighs about 6500 lbs dry... can you imagine what she goes with 720 cubic feet of water in it and all the insulation and wood waterlogged to boot?!?!?!?... :wooo

I wasn't about to jag up a brand new truck over a trailer that is worth 10% of what the truck is and is insured on top of it. Even when the park first flooded and the tongue was visible, the only way out was already several feet flooded.
