at the pilot on ryan road $8.50, car weighed 2720 with full exhaust, pass. seat, and street tires, 1/4 tank of gas.... take off my exhaust(1 magnaflow resonator and megan muffler(open dp at track next time), pass. seat, and put slicks on my car weighs 2620lbs add me and 2800 race weight :thumbsup

For anyone who cares IM going to GLD weds. and expect to turn some heads on C16:devil

From a 40 roll my car and an 06 750GSX-R were dead even from a 40 roll. I would pull a little, have to shift, go back to his rear tire, start pulling again. Wash, rinse repeat. And Rickys car is faster than mine was.

this new tune is just stupid BOB same psi, but pulls so much harder and 4th gear breakup is now fixed!!!! you should come Weds:thumbsup

If i lose my 200lb passenger and exhaust that bike would have got raped:thumbsup I'll get it on video of track runs and racing the bike after i hit up the track...

I dunno. I personally was always about being full street weight. Knowing that I am that fast in my day to day driving means more to me. It was also a better insult when everyone else was stripping their car, and mine still had everything in it, including the spare tire.

The only thing I ditch is the spare and tool kit. -50lbs or so. I like having a full working car as well. IE: Power windows 8 way power heated seats, sunroof complete stereo, and Ice cold AC!

That being said I would not be above taking out a bunch of stuff for a HAIL MARY run @ the track..... Just to see how much difference it would make.

IIRC my S4 weighs 3800ish with driver. :rolleyes:

I think the lightest is around 2900. There's still some weight that can be taken out, but it's getting harder and harder! Sound deadening stuff was 35-40 pounds itself. But the car has a cage in it, so that added some extra weight that "normal" SHOs don't have.

No PS, No AC, No backseat, coilovers weight less than stock struts, all trunk carpet and pads ripped out, etc. etc.

STill full interior and heated, both air bags, nothing real crazy:thumbsup I honestly dont like Power steering that much, although it would steer alot better with a true manual rack and not the current rack looped....

new clutch-old one was slipping on WOT a lil
coilovers (gonna help A TON)
fully cranked ftp trac bars(more preload=more tractoin)
Aaron tune that fixed my car breaking up in 4th gear, car was bucking and fighting itself the whole way thru 4th, he thinks i was hitting the overboost since i came back from OHIO... either way a whole different tune now for open downpipe and its a monster no doubt.... I would like to get the new tune on a dyno, but i want track times first!!!!

Higher speed DECREASES it.

At higher speeds its all about horsepower and aerodynamics... weight starts to become a moot point.

So they started to go crazy for fun with weight reduction. At the end they went low 14s or something, but they were driving on a plastic lawn chair or something, it had no electronics left in it, and had the top cut off I believe :goof

If you've got the traction then losing weight makes a big difference. On my old S10 it made a 1.2 second difference when I removed 450lbs from it and moved 225 to the rear.

My big dumb mud truck, with its 220 earth shattering horsepower and manual transmission would beat just about any non-awd production car to 40mph. But, it's got nearly 10lb/hp and enough traction to scare most fur-bearing animals.

Transmission parts arrive today from Mitsubishi, then I have to rebuild my transmission and a customer's transmission. It will likely be ready in the next week or two, but I think the earliest I will get to the track will be in August. I will try to get there earlier to hopefully pull off some very quick times on the current setup. We also need to finish dyno'ing the car above 40psi. So far it is at 753AWHP/713TQ on Q16 @ 40psi with the boost tapering off to 35psi above 6000rpms (I still have to hunt down where the pressure drop is coming from). I am expecting to see over 800AWHP, and will hopefully be around or above 825AWHP at 50psi on VP Import. I am also going to try and make a 50psi map on Q16 and see where the Import overcomes the Q16 (if at all).

Other than that, I will be ready as soon as the trans goes back into the car, and to the track I go.

even that is crazy. My dirtbike rocks real hard like that because of the sprocket setup, but im just not sure im ready to die to ride some of these bikes. I have been riding for a while, and still dont feel confident enough!

On straight motor I guarantee i could get him, I dont have a doubt my mind. As far as spray is concerned, you can keep that. Going in a straight line is no challenge. If he wants to line up with me it will be at blackhawk or road america. Then we will see who gets there ass tapped on a real race track. :thumbsup

I am definitly not a pro. I have no sponsors and now its more of a hobby then it used to be. But I raced for many years with money from GPR and Hotbodies. Your pretty quick to make judgements about other peoples abilities ive been noticing. I usually keep my mouth shut with this "who is faster" "my car does this" threads but the ignorance is really starting to get deep around here. If his bike is running N20 it is going to be set up completely different then mine. Mine is high hp track bike, not a street bike. Its glass from front to back with carbon wheels and no lighting to be seen. Its not a drag bike and its never been on a drag strip. But with the forks strapped the bike slammed id be more then willing to take on any N/A street bike in the 1/4. As far as blackhawk or R/A is concerned, come get some... :thumbsup

Matter of fact id take on that R1 with the bike I sold Slols1. With that one it might be "fair".

Speaking of that, I have a spare gixxer 1K engine for sale! Any takers?

not to but in and totally get off topic but, the gixxer seems to have a very tight power band which almost feels like a 600's power band and not a liter bike. my r1 seemed way faster outta the hole and mid range compared to the gixxer. i still have yet to get it to the track... all i need is a windshield and i'll be good to go!

Thats the way my track engines are set up. Powerband on that engine is 6K and up so your R1 was most likely faster out of the hole as you mentioned. Comparing it to a 600 powerband is fairly accurate other then the fact it has double the power. As I mentioned when i dropped it off though, Im pretty sure it needs plugs. It was stumbling off idle when I put it away.

I really hope your satisfied with that bike. :thumbsup

well i havent even really rode it... i change all the fluids put fresh gas in it, and took it for a 5mi cruise then gave her hell for a little while yesterday. that clutch grabs real nice too! i can launch that thing so nicely and 1-2 shift lifts the front end along with 2-3 and 3-4! it feels a little more resposive than my f4i i had and somewhat comparable too my r1 when it comes to corning... either way i need more seat time to really get a feel for it:headbang

Aside from its appearance I told you it was a monster. Keep the front end planted on that thing is near impossible. You should really re-valve the suspension for yourself as well. The forks are set for rider over 200#'s.

thats good because when im bringing wheelies down sometimes it comes down a little harder than it should :chair: i cant wait to get it to GLD... i hope i can bet my stock 05 r1 time of 10.5 at 139 :durr
