My dad finally send me some pictures of his car accident from last fall.

Debris in the road, takes out a tire. Tire explodes. Car dives nose first towards a ditch, he's able to bring it fairly straight while plowing in the ditch. Gets lucky and just have to replace a tire, a wheel, some trim, and redo the passenger door and fender. This could have been a total loss for a car that he's owned for 30 years. He could have easily flipped that car and died that day. I'm thankful I still have my dad around, I could have lost him that day. A 1955 Bel-Air is NOT equipped with "real" safety glass that I know of, and doesn't have seat belts either.

And a shot that I took of it, coming home from another show, with of all things, my Cell Phone.

The 55 Chev does have safety glass, albeit 53 year old glass. I love that car, seen it many times.

I couldn't remember when they started to use it. Doubt it's anywhere near today's safety glass.

Sucks what happened to your dads beautiful car but to blame Wisconsin roads because of a piece of debris come on.If it happened because of a big pot hole or some other problems with the road i'd be pissed to.It's a good that that it didn't do very major damage or total the car, hope he has it fixed.
I guess i could blame Ohio roads for the damage done to my car from a tire tread that got kicked up at my car.

Gee wow...... It was simply the irony that if you aren't looking out for potholes and deer, it's debris that shedded on the freeway from other stuff. Oh, I also forgot randomly flooded roads :thumbsup

This all in all was really a reminder of what you can find on the roads ANY ROADS that can unexpectedly happen not only to your daily driver, but also your 50 year old toy.
