I am curious as to why you would use wood over metal?

They serve the same purpose, I am curious as to why it matters?

I guess it doesnt really matter. I would have a hard time trusting wood since it is an organic material prone to decompose over time. What is weight limit of wood ramps? Not trying to be a ****, I am actually very curious.

I would trust these over a metal casting with nothing but a support bracket underneath that may crumble under any circumstances due to an unseen crack or rust. It doesn't even take half a brain to figure out that (4) 2x12's stacked on top of each other, screwed together, would handle the weight. Unless of course you see evidence of rot & decay of say an old willow tree inside, but clearly that is not the case here. Stop sh1tting on the thread, unless you want to buy them.

those are probably alot easier for lowered cars to get up them.

Darn right, metal ramps dont even work on most F Bods and Mustangs.
I can't even get a "normal" floor jack under my Stang without driving it up on some wood blocks like those for sale in this thread.

I built a set like these for my car because it was too low for the metal ramps. Really simple to make and work great. Sure, they may be heavy, but do you really need light-weight ramps that stay in your garage?

They're far more stable than the metal ramps you buy at the store. By the time you built a pair of metal ramps that were stable it'd be like $50/ramp.

I have some ramps that are older than I am built out of wood. And they spent a lot of their life in the weather.

I'll take 'em. I need some anyway and don't really have the time to build some. PM me your contact info and I'll come pick them up.

I've already used them a couple times. Much better than putting the jack under this thing. Thanks again!
