Gina snapped this picture of me ringing the steel yesterday with the M1A. That's my buddy spotting for me, he got a kick out of watching the vapor trails! Yup, that's an M-60 and a MM13 in the backround. :stare Between everyone that was there, about 1.5k rounds (and about a gallon of oil Hahaha) went through the M60. I'd never fired an M-60 before, it was a good time. Also put a few hundred rounds through a M-16 with 9mm upper, 5 1/2" barrel and an eotech. That's a lot of fun on full auto! Also, an M-16 with a .22lr kit and a can with an aimpoint, talk about easy to control on full auto! I think that was the most fun of the whole day! I thought this was a cool picture with my shirt and all.

There were around 20 class 3 guns there, all on my "when I win the lottery list". This is a group of local guys that I get together with every so often.

But ok, I dont know squat about guns. Other than what Dirty Harry said.

Why is the M1A so special?

it is truly a rifleman's rifle. lots of fun. I want to have an M-14 clone built to compliment the M-1 in the collection, but the funds don't permit it.

Just wish the M-1as were still built with mostly U.S.G.I. parts like in the '80s(and i know it really wont matter for my type of usage , but a forged receiver like the original M-14. C'mon, even the Polytech & Norinco M-14 clones offer that. I mean for 1.5k I should get that)
