My wife's friend had her purse stolen out of my car. The purse had her only copy of her car key. Does anyone have any experience with this or where to start to get a copy made. It is a 05 Nissan Sentra. Any help would be appreciated. We'll start calling the dealers tomorrow and see what is possible.

That key has a programmed chip inside of it. You can take your car and whatever keys you have for it to the dealer (or whitlock, it'll be much much cheaper) and they will reprogram the new key, along with your car and your old keys to a new code.

Very common thing to do, and any key that you might have with the old code will only be able to unlock the car, not start it.

Good luck!

Great thanks. She took care of it at the dealer. The girlfriend of the guy that broke into the car got busted about 1.5 hours later trying to use one of the credit cards at Best Buy. Dumbass. According to the detective she is being cooperative so hopefully they can get the d-bag that broke my window.
