So my dad picked up a new '08 Softail last October. Got it from House of Harley of course(Thanks Ron and the guys!) First time I've remembered my camera's. Funny thing is, it's only got 300 miles on it as of right now. And that's after we rode to Jefferson and back this past weekend. So after getting it, he bought all the chrome kit stuff for it and had House put it on. Then he started finding custom painted Harley body parts. So instead of plain old silver, now it's got kinda a cool custom look.

Before the pics, a little back story. He always wanted a dark cherry v-rod. Had been looking for one with the fat tire rear. Couldn't find one. Would always be too far away or too many miles. So a week or so ago, he was looking on ebay, and low and behold, a dark cherry '07 v-rod with 3000 miles on it. Was pretty cheap, but reserve wasn't met. Turns out, the guy lives like 5 minutes from my parents. So my dad sent an email, the guy rode it over to my dad's house. Dad really liked it, so the auction ended next day without hitting reserve. Called him up and tossed an offer at him and the guy took it, so now he owns the V-Rod too, hahaha. After riding both, I do NOT like the v-rod. Just sounds like, something other than a Harley. Even both being completely stock exhausts, the softail just has that burble that i'd expect from a Harley. The v-rod isn't even close.

I wish I could get him to change a couple things on both bikes(like the back rest for the passenger) but he needs that on there for the bags for when he takes it to work. Funny thing is my mom won't even come close to wanting to ride with him, hah.

The V-Rod will wake up with an aftermarket exhaust :)

Vrods actually are known to lose a little power with aftermarket exhaust. (mostly torque)

however they sound awesome with pipes on them and the power loss isnt enough and wouldnt stop me from putting the exhaust on.

The exposed frame on the V-Rod looks cool, nice looking bike and bikes.
How many CC's is the V-Rod ?

that's a good question. i'm not a harley guy. the rear does look high in the photos just because of how it looks leaned over.

my dad won't do anything to it. or atleast i don't think he won't. he won't touch the softail's exhaust.

A HD that sounds reliable, powerful, and fairly priced?

v-rod sounds different because of the different angle between the cylinder I thought...it has a greater seperation so it doesn't ka-chop as much as the ole style v-twin where one cylinder is firing really close to the other.

But I think they sound way better with aftermarket exhaust
