I just recently bought the Garmin Nuvi 260W. I wanted a wide screen and didn't want the bells and whistles of bluetooth and that other stuff. I have had it for two months and love it

We have the basic Garmin Street Pilot and it works great...!!! It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but works great for what it is, a GPS unit.....

I have a Tom Tom One 3rd Edition... Thing's Great, and it's taken me all over WI, Kristie all over IL, been to Detroit, and Northern IN... :thumbsup

Best part is that it was only $129 black friday... They're about $149 right now...

Edit: And updates are free... That's the best part...

I'm in the same boat as him. I have the same unit and I have had some troubles in some spots. So just make sure that you download tom tom home right away so you can download updates all the time. Thats one thing I forgot and then put off doing and then of course i'm driving around wondering why tom tom brought me to a radio tower rather then a part entrance. But, otherwise I wouldn't be able to live without it.

My dad has a Street Pilot and I've got a Nuvi. The biggest difference, besides the size and updated maps, is the reception. In his car, he has to set it on the dash to get a signal and it loses it's signal in tunnels, when driving under some bridges and even some roads with tree cover. With the Nuvi, I can get a signal anywhere, never lose it, even when I'm in the house.

thats the same thing with my tom tom. I never lose signal unless its pointed at the ground.

We use a Garmin in our RV. We've had it all over WI, all the way out to Wyoming and even in the Rockies. Thing works like a charm.

I picked up a Garmin Nuvi 200 when target misprinted it for 149.99 a month ago. Its not the most advanced GPS and doesn't make your breakfast or anything....but it still rocks.
