LS1 T/A Rearend whine

My brothers friend has a LS1 Trans Am with the SLP 375HP package.

Ever since he got the car there is a slight whine (2 years now) and he said it is getting a little worse.

he replaced the wheel bearings in the rear as well as the u-joint.

but it still whines he took it to a shop and they said its the Axle pitting? never heard of that.

what else could it be?

does it matter? its a 7.5 and it will break soon anyway lol

they all whine. mine does a little. ive been beating the piss out of mine for 4 years. cant seem to break the 10 bolt.

if mine could have been broken it would have been already. i know its day will come.

prob gear whine.... pretty typical. if the pion seal is leaking, the crush sleeve is wasted, and if its loose enough, its cause the gear whine too, mainly under load and decel it will make noise then.

car has never been to the track since he owned it. he just street drives it so i doubt it will really break. i haven't been in the car to hear/feel what it is. but i just thought i'd ask.

mine whines as well also have some pinion leakage i also get loud whine on hard accel from the tranny is that possibly what hes hearing as well? I was told its common to hear the tranny more after i put the pro 5.0 shifter in mine

i also have a good amount of whine and pinion seal leaking, every time i go to the track it seems to get louder. :burnout:
