WTB 1987-1990 TransAm GTA Flame Red (maroon)

Im looking for a 1987-1990 Trans Am GTA, Flame Red (maroon color), must have T-tops, preferably Tan leather, preferably a 5.7L 350, I realize I'm being picky here but I am looking for a car just like I use to own.

The GTA on ebay looks nice even though it doesnt have the tan interior but it doesnt have t-tops and I need t-tops.

I drove past the white one on hwy100 this weekend, I was thinking about stopping by to look at it cuz the white with tan leather looks nice, but I really want one exactly like my old GTA.

Ive been on thirgen.org (I have posting looking for a car), Ive been talking to the guy with the 11k car, it seems very nice but he lives in NY and according to mapquest it is just under 1,000miles to his ZIP and that would cost a lot to ship back, plus I would have to fly out and look at it, and on top of that he is asking a lot for a car with 62k on it, so that all adds up to a ton of cash.

There is one in Plymouth that looks just like the one on the ebay auction. It has the red or maroon interior from what I can see when I drive by it. It is in someone's yard. From the looks of it, it appears to be in very nice condition but I haven't gotten out to look at it.

I will try tonight when I go home. Just not sure if I want to walk up to someone's car in there front yard at about 2:00am and have someone coming out in there underwear with a gun lol! I can run out there tomorrow and take a look at it for you and let you know. I will get the number and let you know what kind of mileage and condition it is in! I can't remember if it has t-tops.

I do see a clean Black one going north on 43rd near lincoln now and then around 7pm. he turns eastbound on mitchell or burnham.... very nice car.

I know just finding a L98 with t-tops is hard enough....but a specific color....

Bump again----Well I still haven't found the GTA I'm looking for yet, so if you guys know of anything let me know. There have been a few but they dont have t-tops or they want 10 grand for them and you can get a LS1 WS6 for that kind of cash.

CJ87GTA and I looked at one in Belgium, WI about two summers ago. Maroon GTA with the stock gold wheels, t-tops, and badges for sale, but I'm pretty sure it was a 305 car if I recall. It's also probably long gone. Good luck, I am in a very similar situation trying to find a very specific Probe GT.

Hey I might have found a car for you. Its in some little as town in IL that I drive through on my way to Peoria. Its a 87 GTA, torch red, 5.7, looked pretty much stock. Paint is pealing off the spoiler, and theres a little rust by one of the wheel wells. The number on it was 309-369-0007

burgandy/maroon and to tell you the truth I can't remember if it had T-tops or not.
I called and breifly talked to the guy, he said $6000 obo which seemed high even for a GTA. He told me the milage but I forgot what it was.

Looks red to me. I haven't seen it in true day light but I can look tomorrow. I'm 95% sure it is red though.

I saw your car at a stop light today in Champaign, IL. 1987 GTA L98 maroon with tan leather. The owner was really nice, but says the car is not for sale. He also would not give me his contact information unfortunately. It was in absolutely mint condition, the paint was gorgeous. If it wasn't repainted the car was truly an amazing survivor. Original gold "wire" wheels 87 specific with the notches at the end of the spokes. One hell of a car to see in that kind of condition.

Thanks, but I bought my old car back about a year ago from the guy I sold it to in Texas. Its great to have it back, I just did a t56 conversion this spring which was probably the best mod I have done to the car.:headbang
