I think Tom (BAD LS1) has had some experiences with the T56... Maybe shoot him a PM... Or wait til he notices this thread, if he does...

Its a **** show and you need some special snap ring pliers, paitents and a good service manual for your first time. Not exactly a beginner freindly trans for rebuilds. I do them pretty cheap and turn them around in a day if you get parts before hand.

I highly recommend getting upgraded parts from D&D performance.

Tom how cheep is cheep? PM me a price if you don't want to post it in here.

I have a T56 from a 95 TA and last night after an hour drive home on the freeway in 6th gear, when I got off the freeway I could only get it to shift into 4th and 6th. The shifter moves around fine, just won't drop into any other gears?? Managed to get it home but haven't really looking into it any more yet. Kinda pissed and don't want to deal with it right now.

+1 on having Tom do it.

I bought some upgraded internals from sixspeeds inc. (www.sixspeedsinc.com) and Tom installed them for cheap....
He can PM you a price Im sure, its not my place to say.

There was just too much room for error for me to try and stumble through it myself.:alcoholic
