Awhile back I purchased a Hi Point .40s&w Carbine for some fun inexpensive shooting. I have only put about 150 rounds through it, but I absolutely love it. Today I purchased the Hi-Point Model JCP.40S&W Pistol. The 10 round clips are interchangeable and the guns are very inexpensive. I pick the pistol up on Monday evening and will probably test it out on Tuesday. This Brand uses all American parts and the price was too good to pass up.

I know it's an inexpensive brand, I just want to know the opinions of others who may have experience with them.

They are what they are. Dont expect miracles. For the money you paid, its gonna fire the bullet. Just fine for plinking but I wouldnt "rely" on it for anything.

CHeap fun, as you stated above.

they are alot better than they used to be,other than some jamming issues thats all i have seen or heard,it is what it is. i have seen way more exp. guns have the same failure/issues. I think it will be good for what your gonna need it for

I have been reading basically the same stuff about jamming and so forth. Some say they jam up, others say never a problem. I guess we"ll see how it goes. Under $200 price tag for this hopefully turns out to be a real good buy.

People that have them seem to like them. I have heard good things about the carbine, and ATI make a stock to make it look like a Beretta(sp?) Storm.

I bought mine about a year ago now and it works great. Ive put about 200 rounds through it so far and it hasn't jammed yet. For the money I can't complain, but eventualy I would like to step up to either a bereta or SA.

So I got my .40 yesterday and couldn't get to the range with it yet. ( had some things to do at the school for my boys. ) But I did have time to putz with it and do something I saw on the Hi-Point forums. Turned out ok for a quickie job. I will give it a better finish when I have some more time. Let me know what you think.

I've also heard good things about the carbines. I've thought about picking one up, but will most likely build something on a AR platform in 9mm, or if the market ever picks up, 45ACP.

I'm interested in a report after a couple thousand rounds, so you better get shooting!
