If I am going to pay that much, I might as well get good gas.

Any county that does not have emissions have the non-reformulated gas.

I know the shell in East Troy has the good gas. I go there with four 5 gallon gas cans and fill them up. My Cobra and Vert has never seen the reformulated gas yet.

that is not true.

most of the gas stations up by me have the 10% blend now :crying i have been getting my gas in lomira at the bp station. they add the ethanol to their midgrade blend. the ethanol nuts are happy because they can get midgrade with ethanol for the same price as regualr and guys like me that would like no ethanol gas can still get that too.

i did notice that my wifes car gets 1-2 mpg better when i run the midgrade ethanol in it though?!? maybe the higher octane outweighs the ethanol?!?!

Jefferson County, take I94 West and get off at County "F" and hit hit up the BP station.

Also what the rest of the peeps said, East Troy right off I43 South the next exit past Mukwonago.

so are you going to drive that far away everytime you need gas???

well dont bother going to a bp or marthon gas station accross the state. they all will have 10% in it by the end of the month. but it wont be reformulated. there are citco's and mobiles that still sell 10% free.

However, even then, the difference is probably smaller than you think and most the large difference could be explained by other factors.

For the most part, all else being equal*, higher octane results in minutely worse mileage. More so if Ethanol is used due to it's lesser BTU's.

*again, assuming same amount of timing advance, a/f ratio, etc.

Reformulated gas = 10% Ethanol, and the reason why you see gas stations that are outside the required 'area' selling it is because they get a kickback from the state.....

So any premium I buy anywhere for the most part does not have any ethanol added ?

Ethanol is starting to die already so that is good, too bad we may never get rid of that 10% crap. I dont know anyone who thinks its good. Then again I don't know anyone with a with a road named after them, a couple dozen sqaure miles of corn and an ethanol still.

thats because uneducated people assume that Ethanol is whats bad in the gasoline. its not. Ethanol burns better, creates a higher octane. ethanol is like using an octane booster, it does not cause problems, its the additives for running clean beyond Ethanol that make our gas "shit"

I called the BP in East Troy, they said up to 10% ethanol in their gas.

I've filled up a few times now there though, I can't remember if there is a sticker or not that says up to 10% ethanol. I'm not sure about the Shell because I use my BP card (5% cash back, so at least I'm still paying under $4 a gallon :rolf)

In any case, I would figure premium would be more likely to have ethanol added since they can use it as an octane booster???

Then this is recent in the past few months because I filled up there every other day for a long time and they always had signs posted. NO ETHANOL, NON REFORMULATED.

Mabey they just tell you that over the phone to, who knows.

I work right by the BP in East Troy and there is a sticker near the regular gas that says "May contain up to 10% Ethanol". By the way that BP is about 15 cents cheaper than the shell right now.

Complete speculation but I'm guessing this means the East Troy BP uses ethanol to raise their 87 to 93 :(
