just got done watching a special on CNN on GAS PRICES.....they say we have reached our peak on getting oil from the ground and not many other places to get it from....they said by next thanksgiving that gas may be at 6.00.....

they also blasted the pres that after 9/11 he did nothing to help the process....now it's too late they say....airlines and truckers will be affected the most they said...and then we the comsumers will feel the punch from that....

i got into a conversation with an uncle he works at a plant that manufactures pistons for gm,ford and so forth... and sence the gas prices hit 4buks the plant is slowing very quickly... cuz no one is buy new vehicals like they were 3 months ago..... they had a memo about the economy and gas prices were the cause... ..... they mite close the plant down if it gets worse....

I still believe that gas prices are ONLY effecting the economy because to many people live up and beyond there financial means. If you have more revolving debt or dept incurred by depreciating items then you make in one year of your salary, you have problems.

If I want to go up north to ride the atv's for a couple days I'm not sure it's worth a couple hundred EASY in fuel costs to ride the atv's for a couple days?


And that is with my owning all of my ATV's, tow vehical and trailer outright....


For me it's just a simple math of adding up the cost of just getting to the places and not even what it costs once I'm there whitch I don't have as much problem with....Even filling up each atv with 4 gallons can get pricey since we generally go through 2 to 3 tanks a day for each machine....add up the atv's fuel costs and my tow vehical fuel to get up there and the trips are very expensive....

BINGO! 4 friends, my brother, and myself were going to go up to Black River Falls for some ATV trail riding. We would have to take two trucks, each one having a trailer hooked up, and we would be hauling two quads on each one. Each quad holding about 4 gallons each, it would be $64 bucks to fill up all the quads ONCE, about $200 to fill up both trucks ONCE, so we will need AT LEAST $400 for both trucks to go from oak creek to black river falls and back, and then $64 for the quads. If we have to tank up say 5 times (which is thinking conservatively) for a 3 day trip, we are looking at over $320 bucks in fuel JUST for the quads. For a 3 day trip, spending $800 JUST on fuel doesn't sound too appealing to me, whether everything was owned outright or had loans on em. $800 bucks is still $800 bucks no matter how you cut the mustard
