well there here to give me the new AT&T FASTER Internet and cable install...already he has had to call in for reinforcements to help him out...so now we wait for them to get here...looks like a 5-8 hr install...this should be fun....nothing to do while they tare my place up....anyone needs to get ahold of me...use my cell...otherwise catch ya when this is all DONE....maybe when this is all said and done all that porn Deggy has been sending me i'll be able to open...:rolf:rolf:rolf:rolf:thumbsup

nothing at all wrong with the internet....fast as hell...i mean fast....down loaded seans iTunes...net zero was 20 mins then said we needed broadband...so we got this set up...well half of the set up......this interent was not even a min....so far happy with the internet...but they should of gave up when they couldn't find the splitter....so guess who's coming back next sunday.....wouldn't of been so bad...but it was mothers day and ann wanted to go out to eat...that didn't happen....

any bets if they get it done next weekend....

he had every cable outlet pulled out looking for the splitter...i ended up putting most of them back together..and vacumimng up afterwards.....thats one in every room....5 total

yeah they did the same by me but the splitter was in a "hidden panel" by the breaker box..(im in a condo) at my dads house the spitter is in the basement were the lines come in the house... again by the breaker box..

This is garbage.
When I had THE SAME ISSUES with my install, plus my double-billing issues, domokun (1quickgtp) did nothing.
Soon you will experience the joy of rebooting each box 2 times a day and random outages whenever an update is released.

Are you in a house or apartment complex?

If you're in the house the installer shouldn't even have wasted all that time trying to find a f'n splitter and should have just ran Cat 5e through the house.

A lot of installs can be a breeze if existing Coax can be used (which is maybe 1/2 the time). We're not going to use your 10 year old shitty coax. A lot of the techs can get lazy though and will use shit coax instead of doing it the proper way and running Cat 5e.

The installs can take awhile because we have to make cross connects at the cross box, come back to your house and install a VDSL splitter at the NID on the back of your house, and if done the PROPER way a CAT 5e home run should be made to the RG location.

I'm a new guy under training, but on some of the ride-alongs I've seen some of the shoddy work that can be done when we have to go back and fix shit because someone was too lazy.

U-verse is a great product if installed properly but can be a shitfest if its not. There are A LOT more factors to take into consideration compared to cable/satellite. If you are getting U-verse and want the best quality DO NOT have them use your existing coax, have them run Cat 5e. We are technically supposed to ask you if we can reuse the coax but most guys don't. It may make our job longer, but guess what, its our job. We don't get paid hourly so most guys really won't care if new wire has to be ran and A LOT prefer to run Cat 5e.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience, maybe give customer service a call and give them hell to high noon. There are only a very few factors which cause a tech to NOT be able to run Cat 5e...but some will just make up excuses to get the job done and out of there faster.

If I was in customer service I'd help you any way I could, but I'm just a newb tech :rolf

As far as service in Muskego, they don't give us launch dates...they keep pretty tight lipped about it. Best bet would to be drive around and see if any of our VRADS (giant tan looking box usually) pop up near the telephone crossboxes. That could mean service is coming soon.

Also, if anyone is looking at getting ANY at&t services (telephone, cellular, high speed internet, u-verse or at&t DISH network if uverse is not available to you) send me a PM and I'll give you my ID # for a reference. It would help met out. I wish I could do all of your installs, but unfortunately the jobs are thrown in a pool and randomly dispatched to us.

I just had AT&T U-Verse installed 2 weeks ago in my house. Only took the guy about 5 1/2 hours to do. The picture and sound quality is much better than crap @$$ Time Warner. Not to mention my internet connection is fast every time I go online now. I love it!
