I had a finyl flooring put in about 4 years ago and the seams are starting to come apart.. When the floor was laid the seams were placed together and some sort of epoxy placed on top of them.. But now you can see they are coming apart and dirt is filling the cracks and making it look like ass.. Anyone know what I should do to correct this?

I don't know if there is anything you can do about it. My parents ran into the same problem with the vinyl they have (granted it is super, super old) in the kitchen. They are just waiting until they can agree on a flooring they both like and extra time to do it (they are such the do-it-yourself type).

they just have great deals on tile.....they have what they have though. You go this week they'll have different stuff that they had 2 weeks ago. They always have a decent selection and they can usually slaughter Home Depot's price on tile. The tile store across the street from Culvers on highway 100 has nice stuff too but $$$$$. I put 1" square ceramic tile in my half bath that has held up great. The key is a super flat starting surface. Tiling is pretty easy though if you have never done it before.

you have to use a putty knife probably a 3" or 4". peel back the seem evenly about 8 inches back. THOROUGHLY clean the surface below and the flooring itself. go to local home depot and tell them you need glue for a vinly floor repair. glue. replace floor. idealy you would also use a compression joint. it has 2 suction cups on each side and a telescoping bar in the middle. the cups would go on each side of the seam and then you compress the telescoping bar to pull the seam tight.

Looks like Designer Solarian vinyl made by Armstrong. Is it starting to curl up or just seperating? If its not curling you can clean it out and reseal it with Armstrongs seam coating.
