I'm too excited I can't wait to post these... my Dad sent me a few pictures to hold me over until Thursday when I can get them on the car.

Brand new Anthracite Bullits with 235/45 Nitto 555's for the front and 245/45 rears. It's been a long time since I posted any pictures of the car here and I know I took crap for editing all most posts to remove my old pictures (that's another story we wont share) but the car now sports a full black interior 1995+ PGT interior with 1994 black seats. I'm going to go with 03 SVT black center caps instead of the cobras just for a little change. I am also going to detail the front vents with satin black vinyl which has needed to be done for a long time.

A few glamor shots since its been awhile:

The 245's up front stick out too much and toss a lot of crap down the side of the car. Plus it helps a little for clearance on the strut.

My Dad and I got the car out of storage yesterday and got right to work tearing it apart. I accomplished a lot of small stuff yesterday like finally getting the front inner fenders in and fit to the bumper. A lot of the rusty stuff like the brakes got a fresh coat of spray bomb and the new wheels got put on. Today, we're going get some black painted stainless mess with black ABS plastic behind it in all the small vent openings in the body kit and fill the areas next to the blinker lenses with satin black vinyl. Lots of little details. Here are a few dark pictures from yesterday. My friends new Redline is hiding in the background of the one picture.

Car looks great!
Ever think about seeing if the cobra calipers bolt up to your brackets? Might be a nice upgrade

all it needs now is some power. The car always looked pretty decent, but it needs some grumble to back up the curb appeal :thumbsup

yeah, I completely agree Clint... I have been bidding on wrecked 03 Cobra's but have yet to snag one. They all seem to end a few hundred dollars over the limit my Dad set. The car is just kinda in a waiting state at the moment. I'll have more pictures to post tonight. I've been working all day.

No pictures of todays progress because nothing is on the vehicle yet. I made up the vinyl pieces for in the nose and cut the stainless weave mesh on the water jet for the grills and painted it black a long with cutting the black plastic fillers. Hopefully, I'll get those installed tomorrow along with a few more of the factory plastic pieces in the rear fender wells by the bumper. Lots of little stuff is getting accomplished finally to finish the car off. After it was painted, I just kinda started driving it and some stuff never got finished up.

Any plans to lower it a little more? Bag it perhaps?

pw_cc_runner
05-12-2008, 02:01 PM
johnny--2k - I'm working on it non-stop...

Deggy - yeah I would love to lower it, and it would have to be bags because the car is really tough to drive as is. The only thing stopping me is the potential of the 4.6L going in because I wouldn't be using the Probe suspension then. One of these years it will happen either way.

I'm working on the vents in the body kit. The mesh is stainless painted gloss back because the silver was really gaudy. So far I have the grills in the nose, but I can't decide if I like them open or closed. I have pieces of rough abs black plastic made up already but I'm not sure if I want to use them or not. What do you guys think? (The orange is so HOT in the second and last pictures)

Depends on what's behind it. If it's all closed behind it, leave them open. If light will show through them, close them up.

It's really a horse-a-piece. Looks good either way!

Spring 2008 was a big for little changes to the Street Rod Probe including the full black interior, new Nitto NT555 tires (235/45 Fronts 245/45 Rears), new 17x8 30mm offset 94-04 anthracite Mustang Bullitt wheels, black painted stainless steel mesh in the six vent openings backed with black plastic, and black vinyl next to the blinker lenses. The flames are probably going to get pinstriped yet this year. So keep an eye open for that later on this summer. BTW, it needs to be detailed yet, it wasn't perfectly clean for the pictures.

Never saw the rear of your car, dude that looks so clean. Its not over done at all and everything flows with the next mod.

Have you sent pix of your ride into any Mags ?

I always liked Probes, but you only see them when there Riced out or Rust buckets never clean like yours.

Sort of like neons, you never see really nice ones there either Riced out or rust buckets. Not sure what mine falls under lol

Car looks unbelievable Josh. ( And your welcome for the oil filling location. lol )

I really don't know what you have done performance-wise, but if you made that thing fast, you'd have a monster on your hands. By far and away the best Probe I've ever seen.

I have not sent it into any magazines, I am not really into that. If you want to do it for me I wouldn't stop you but I really only read HOTROD and NSRA Street Scene. LOL Wanye, its got a stock 2.0L I4. No go mods at all... yet.
