First my sister, now me? WTF

So I am driving back to my Dad's shop to fix my little exhaust leak. I am driving down Grange Ave just passing 15th street. There is an S10 pickup (older one) in front of me. He is braking, figured because there is a red light on 13th. I get over (i used my signal) and was going to turn into the gas station right on the corner. As I am passing the guy BAM, hits me right in the driver side rear door. Spun me around and a smacked the curb and messed one of my wheels all to hell. I am fine, had my seat belt on. Here's the aftermath.

Not sure what a 1999 Grand Am is worth these days. Did the car have low miles on it? That might save it from being totaled. Sorry to hear about the wreck, glad your ok.

Car just rolled over 150k on the body....The motor has been rebuilt.

Sorry to see this Deggy. Those wheels were really nice and weren't even on the car that long. Most likely will be totaled though - it doesn't take much, especially with a 9 year old car.

Insurance companies are very quick to total a vehicle if it's 'older' because they don't want to deal with it. They'd rather give you the $$$ that it's worth and be done with it opposed to you bugging them down the road if it's not fixed correctly.....
