My normal credit card bills when I still lived at my parents was average of 700. Alot of car parts haha. Since I have moved out and watch my money alot more. Last months bill was 30 bucks :). Man did it feel good to only have to pay that much for my cc. congrats duder.

I carried my largest balance just last month...9886.37. Hearing aides (5400), a new-trans/clutch for the CSX (~1250) and I've flown out to Phoenix 4 times in the last 6 weeks so plane tickets and car rentals added up. Paid it off with one check...painful

I was 100% debt free about 6 years ago. No car loan, no cc, no nothing (didn't own a home back then). It was a great feeling until I found out I was actually hurting my credit rating. Now though all I have is a little bit left over from my single upgrade, and I can pretty much take care of that anytime. Well, that's all I have for CC debt anyway.

Credit ratings mean nothing except how much you like debt.

Credit ratings mean nothing except how much you like debt.

Your credit score and history also determine what rates you qualify for when you're looking to make any sort of major financed purchase as well (car, house, etc.). Someone with a 500 score and 3 defaults isn't going to get 0% financing on a car.
