ok so i bought my TA about 3-3 1/2 years ago and i am begining to see were the dealer did all thier touch ups and such. so i was wondering if i should by a porter cable polisher and take a LONG day and try and do it myself or if i should just take it to a body shop and have them touch up all the chips and stuff in the front bumper/hood and do the work for me?? does anybody on the forum do that?
what do you think i could expect as a price on something like that??
i can see were the dealer touched up scratches down the whole passenger side and it looks like somebody put a brick on the spoiler and moved it around :fire... ive never been able to see the touchup spots till late last year and its really starting to show now...

thoughts on this please... thanks, Mike

I just went nuts on my WS6 with a PC and some Menzerna intensive polish last weekend. It cleaned up most of the swirls and light scratches and after being coated with some final polish, sealer, and a couple coats of wax, the car looks 100% better.

I think you can do it.. Spend a nice long day and give her hell.. I enjoy working on cars so if you do it on my day off I'll help..

Thanks! Menzerna polish is awesome. I used Zaino last year and was kind of disappointed with the results. Figured I'd give this stuff a try. If you're looking to actually repair the light scratches and swirls in your paint, the Menzerna intensive polish works wonders.

yeah its got tons of swirl marks and light scratches along with some big scratches that the dealer touched up. but for some reason thier touch up is comeing off.. not sure if thats because i wash it all the time or what but my car is BLACK and very hard to keep clean and you can see everything...

If the paints coming off you don't want put a buffer to it, buffing is a abrasive action. If it's a paint blend your starting to see it's only going to get worse. If it's touch up in a bottle (finger nail polish) it doesn't get any worse.
