Has anyone ever been to the milwaukee mile for the drive out hunger event
just wondering if it worth the drive its only $15 and you can bring any kind of car out there . looks like fun if they let you rip around there or do they set some kind of speed limit?

It's a good time. They try to limit you to about 50 or so on the track, but you can hang back a bit from your group and then hammer it. I was getting pretty close to triple digit speeds coming out of the turns last year. There is also a car show in the infield. As long as the weather is nice, it's worth heading out just to ride around the track and see some cool cars.

It's a pretty good time,i've done it in the past and if you talk nice to the guys leading in the pace truck and if your group hangs together you might be lucky and get upto 100 mph down the backstretch.
I won't be making it this year.:(

Lot's of fun, but I got stuck behind some guy in a Toyota sedan with his kidlets. He only went 30 mph. Since you weren't allowed to pass, I was stuck. I would hold back and then come up on him fast and hang on his rear bumper just like Nascar. You should have seen the little kid's eyes get saucer huge when I did that. I'll be going as I am DJing the event. Looking forward to seeing everyone down there. Come by and introduce yourselves. And don't forget to bring at least two non-perishable food items, you can bring more if you like.

I did it 2 years ago and laid back and hammered it down the straightawys. Then a pace truck pulled up next to me and kicked me off the track. OOOps. I think I got up to 110??? Last year was a little more mealow. Probably got to 90. Then met Gilbert Brown.
Then go over to the SVT show at Griffin Ford.

Good Times!!

That sounds like a lot of fun, but I don't know how many people I'd trust out there on the track with me. Even at slow speeds.

Why not? You drive your car on the street don't you? You trust them? Why would you not trust a person into cars on an oval track? Just does not make sense.:confused they don't race out there.

A persons mentality when driving on the street may be different then their mentality when driving on a oval track. There is no telling what stupid things some people could try to pull out there, even after signing a waiver and an understanding of the rules. There's always one. Just sayin'.

I suppose. But I do agree with breecher. Who wants to be on the track doing 50?
