Not much better, but an improvement. Picked up almost 2 MPH. I'm going back to the track on saturday. They closed the track 2 hours early cause of a chance of rain. Not happy at all but when you only get 4 runs and still trying to get everything running together.

1/8...8.127
MPH...85.87

11.80 1.65 60' on a puiny 558/575 cam --might get down there before the snow flies --the car had every bit a 11.5 in it that night
and i hope to get it back there --11.50 was my goal --Then for spring i might as well try the same cam but with bigger lift
:3gears: might try a few other lil things but i want it to stay reliable/streetable 7.5 in the 1/8 <--met that goal anyways

pretty much stock dodge dakota.. first runs were with a k&n filter and just the exhuast and got a 15.2@88 mph.. took off my 3rd cat, left the 2 pre cats on... and took off my manual fan, and in a 15mph head wind, I got down to a 14.9@90mph... I went again, but still only ran a 14.9, but I couldn't hook up for my life...

Not sure if this is a new best but 12.82 @104.8 with the GS on repo polyglasses, 100% stock appearing. First year I haven't run slicks.

Last weekend ran 10.61 @ 125.2 with the GN, new best with the exhaust on, if we get another nice day I'm leaving the exhaust at home, usually pick up a tenth or so.

My best this year with my Monte was a 12.18 @ 110.86. Next year looks promising for it. Lash, do you have any different screen names? I raced my Z24 a few times at Da Grove too!

Once I got that stock turbo record I pulled the turbo off about a week or two afterwards so I could install the PT-51 turbo & downpipe kit I bought about 6 months earlier (I delayed installation to pursue the stock turbo goal). Stock turbo was 550 CFM this one is about 930 CFM. Took me 2 weeks / 45 hours to install the turbo, required lots of customization and fabrication  but got it in there and its working real great now. Ask Tom, I gave him a ride tonight, when it's running good, its a real rocket!!

Thanks Brian!

Well thats good to hear you got it in there without TOO many problems or anything...

Is there a lot left to tune with the CURRENT set up? Or will you be needing the basic things to run this safely.. i.e, bigger injectors, more aggressive chip, fuel pump, etc....?

I dont think I'll have to ask Tom..LOL
Your new PB is proof enough! :whupe

(had to use the new Smilie!! )

No Really its pretty incredible feeling. The one pass that was near perfect on a 0-100 was like nothing i ever felt. It drops your stomach at first and everyhting is like in slow motion for a split second and all of a sudden out of no where it just comes allive and practially rips your head off and 1st gear is gone in the blink of an eye. Things start to settle down once into 2nd and you get time to finally realize what just happend and get a **** eating grin on your face while letting out a a breif chuckle. Its really quite remarkable how smooth it is once out of first gear compared to my car where there is so much noise and drama going on. Yeah the 100$ bill trick can be done in 1st gear thats for sure!! this is where you tape a 100 to the dash and if you can reach forward and get it under acceleration its yours. The damn lap top almost closed on that one too LOL.!!!!

Its definately something to expierience!!

Way to go Josh....... :thumbsup

That 51 is just a little baby turbo, I didn't think the stock turbo was that small. Do they have a watercooled center section?

Tom, if you want drama you should take my GN for a pass some time, its not to bad if you can get past tree with out running it over..... :stare

Wholy cripes Keith you would do that for me??? I never even got to go for a ride in a GN yet and a 10 second one at that !!!
im such a deprived child'eh??

My car is a hand full getting out near the 1/8 mile namely when she really starts swaying even with 22 PSI in the e/t streets.

Brian, when I bought the truck, not long aftewards I put the biggest intank fuel pump you can get - the Walbro 340M 255 LPH pump which is good to ~600HP. My injectors are stock 28# but the alcohol injection "extends" your fuel system. However I may need to upgrade to 50# injectors sometime soon to be more safe, depending how high I can tune the boost without knock.

Keith, the stock turbo was a baby turbo... the PT51 I have is identical to my friend's PT54, T04E compressor cover and the custom PTE Syclone/Typhoon .85 A/R exhaust housing, its just a slightly different wheel than his. (PTE rates the PT51 to 585 HP and the PT54 for 620 HP). If I remember right, you're running a PT54? As for the water cooled center section, the stock ones are water cooled, and I went out of my way to get my PT-51 with a water cooled center as well. Far as I know I am only the second SyTy to have a water cooled PTE turbo, everyone else has the default oil-only center. The trucks already have the water lines there so I wanted to use them to keep engine bay temps down and possibly prolong turbo life. It ended up being a huge amount of work and hassle and about $100 extra. I had to fabricate the feed and return lines myself out of braided AN and come up with fittings to mate to the block and intake manifold. In the end it turn out real good. The clearances were so tight I had to grind a big dent in my air conditioning bracket to fit the water return line but when it's all together it's not visible. Do the GNs run water center sections? I'm not sure I'd go thru all the trouble a second time if I was to start over.

Turbo Cars are like hot women. A little edgy, every guy wants one, some guys can't handle them, and if you throw a little alchohol in the mix they'll rock your world.
