IDK if I have ever posted these before, but chances are if you are going to know who I am you'll know the car. It was sold in 1998 to a guy in Elkhart, IN who turned out to be a profiteer and only bought it to resell it for more money. I wish I knew where it was because I grew up in the backseat of this car. It was a Gibbon Fiberglass replica 1939 Ford Convertible with lift off hard top powered by a 327 small block Chevy.

Since my parents divorce he bought a house which has taken up a lot of his spare money. This has been in the waiting since about 2000, and I have a feeling this winter he'll be starting on it. If you can't tell he likes a certain year of Fords.

my Dad and I will do everything on it ourselves except for the interior. IDK if he is going to want flames again. We might just rock it as it is with a brand new chassis underneath. It is extremely solid unlike my 1948 convertible which is laughable its so rotted. Your Dad's 32 Ford project really makes me miss going to the Nationals in Louisville or the NSRA show in Columbus or Kalamazoo with a car. We've definitely been out of the game TOO long. The Probe was a fun project but its time to get back to my roots. I do work at a classic auto restoration shop so I get a taste for it when I'm not at school but its just not the same as building one at home with your Dad.

I have a sheet metal car and a NOS hood and trunk lid. So those are really nice but yeah if it wasn't for the windshield frame being good and the convertible top parts all being there, that thing would be junk.

An interesting tidbit about the 1939, the bars for the grill my Dad bent one by one over his knee until they were perfect. It was Porsche Guard Red and the flames were laid out by Ray Drea before he made it big as Harley-Davidson's senior director of styling. I started trying to draw flames in kindergarten when I was making red blobs with yellow and orange blobs that where "my Dad's Hotrod". It's turned into second nature. Everything thing I own is flamed.
