I had both my tattoos done at "Skin Tattoo and Design" and it was a very good experience. I would recommend them, highly. :)

i really like the idea of this thread. there has been this angel statue that ive always wanted to get on my right shoulder back area and ive been to afraid that it would be botched and look nothing like what i want. i mean i want alot of detail done.

Black Dragon In waukesha, I have had all but one of mine done there. Stay away from American in Waukesha down the road from Black Dragon, they are a bunch of classless asshats.

Its not the place you go, but the artist you go to IMO. Adam Bomb and Sacred Skin have two of the best reputations in the area as far as shops go, but you should really look into a particular artist when choosing who you want to permanently mark your body.

Got both of mine done there as well. Done by Barry. Lots of talent and very reasonable as far as price.

That was done by Barry um... 3 years ago for $60 (+$20 tip). Still looks new.

W3rd, Barry did I believe 4 of mine and the all still look killer, I'll post up some pics in a bit.:headbang

The first one on my left shoulder was done about 9 years ago at American, they did good work and it was my first tattoo but they have since turned into a bunch of asshats and way over priced. The other two were at Black Dragon and sorry for the shitty phots but its hard to take pictures of them on your own. I have 7 total and I would highly recommend Barry like Jer said.

I can show you two reasons not to go there, one on my left arm and one on my right arm. On top of the two crappy tattoos, there was some fat **** workin' there talkin' shit about my Electra Glide. Typical asshat, riding a CheckBook Chopper, who couldn't change the oil on it much less built it.

I personally recomend Julio ----HOLY SHIT!!! HE'S BACK IN MILWAUKEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just went to see where he was, i couldn't remember if it was Cali or Texas, and found out he is back in town. Anywho... His name is Julio Avila, and he works at Solid State Tattoo. I have a piston engulfed in flames that he did ten years ago that people think is only a year or two old. He did it back when he was working at Absolute in the Falls.

My second choice is Heather at Starship. She would be my first, but finding out Julio is back in town, she gets the bump to number two. I never would have stepped into sStarship to get a tattoo until I met a girl with a lot of ink done by Heather over there. I was impressed with the quality, mainly how well the older tattoos looked.

That is my one piece of advice: look at older tattoos that still look good. That is a better record than the photos taken two minutes after they were done.

p0rk is dead on.... you should know what you want for a tattoo and then find an artist that does that style of art well/your taste. IMO its not all the same.
