SRT4 spins to 8000 RPM, Clutch explodes through hood!

My understanding is it's a fully built race engine so it was supposed to handle the RPM but the clutch evidently couldn't...

Reminds me of the time an alternator exploded under the hood of my Syclone in the middle of bum-fuk Iowa leaving me stranded and having to hitch-hike for parts!! But my hood only got a little dent/chip from the fan, nothing like this....

Ya not so much.... The guy driving is a dumbass should have never revved the car that high anyways, it was not even making power up there and a modular clutch.... what a idiot

how was it not the owners fault the clutch was a modular unit and not designed to be revving that high!!!! if he wanted to rev that high he should have whent with a light flywheel setup... instead of a remanned sachs unit with a 6 puck stuffed in there.... It was his fault... Dumbass FTW!!!

We've had some problems like this on the J-car forums..... but that is mostly due to Spec (re-stickered Fedenza's) Aluminum flywheels comming apart.... I think only one actually came out of the bell housing, but I've seen pics of 3 or 4 of these that failed.
