Peoria Air Show / Blue Angels

Made the trip down to Peoria for their air show this past weekend with some fellow photog, what a hell of a day. Day started out late because of a 1000 foot ceiling and any of the big boys need 1500-2000 to put on their regular show, but the smaller planes were good filler. You will be able to see in the pics though that the day gradually cleared off but haze was a real problem on the distant shots.

Coolest part was I got to go up with the Golden Knights parachute team and shoot. Rattled off a bunch of shots of those guys (and gal) as they made their way out of the aircraft. Needless to say it is very odd to be sitting right next to a wide open door from takeoff right through landing.

Scott where in the hell is there a list of Shows going on around the midwest ?

I can't even tell you how much I love planes, I don't know everything about them I just love to see them fly.

My favorite plan would be any of the Migs !!! I just always thought they looked bad ass.

A few of them land on weekends I have a wedding scheduled but I will be trying to hit the rest. The one at Nellis in November is going to be awesome.

yeah, we're too busy and have limited space since the 440th is now closed. i need to learn how to shoot, and pick up a basic dslr. i have a chance to shoot really really cool air to air pictures, but just have a basic point and shoot.
