So I am looking to get rc truck. I already have a rustler vxl I got from a buddy but now I want to get either and electric truck or a carpet car or a buggy. Prefer 4 whl drive but open to suggestions. Where do you guys go or does anybody have some old ones for sale?

Most hobby stores carry them.

My brother used to buy all his RC stuff from here. He's not really into it anymore though.

trackside raceway... just off 124th south of capitol... probably the best place in the area for RC stuff...

Go see scott at Trackside, he will take good care of you. Tower is an option, but it is always good to work with a local store whenever possible IMO

I have an older Tmaxx that I'd let go for pretty cheap. Needs the diffs rebuilt or heavy duty ones. Things a beast!

Engin/Drivetrain:
-Werks Picco P2 .21 w/ less than 2qts
-MIP Stinger Pipe
-.21 Sized aircleaner
-MIP Steel Center CVDs
-Tbonz Steel 2.5 CVDs F/R w/ blue CV boots
-Robinson Racing 72T steel Spur gear
-MIP Clutch Kit
-18t Clutchbell (if I can remeber correctly)
-Large blue anodized fuel filter

Steering/Suspension:
-RPM Blue Nylon Shock towers
-RPM Blue Nylon A-Arms
-Traxxas Carbon Brake disc
-Traxxas Big Bores w/ ti. shafts
-Traxxas Titanium Pillow Balls
-Proline Performance Steering kit (Servo saver like 1/8 buggy)
-Lundsford Titanium Hinge pins + Turnbuckles

Chassis/Body:
-RPM Black Nylon Skids F/R
-RPM Black Nylon Bumpers F/R
-Crowd Pleazer Body painted metalic blue (starting to flake around the rear)
-Blue aluminum Servo Skid
-Fuel Tank from a .21 buggy

Wheels/Tires
-Proline 23mm Conversion hubs (one was having issues with pin slippage but was fixxed)
-Proline 3.30x5.70 Bowties (barely used) Mounted on
-Proline Standard Maxx 1/2 offset wheels w/ 23mm hex
-Proline 40series Mashers (like new, used once) mounted on
-Proline 40 series wabash wheels w/ 23mm hex
-Proline Standard Maxx 1/2 offset wheels w/ 23mm hex (4 in package no tires)

Radio/Electronics
-1200Mah Rechargeable receiver pack
-Airtronics 94358 Steering servo (200oz / .10 @ 6v
-Spektrum Z590 Throttle/Brake Servo
-JR XR2i Radio AM/2CH w/ CH68 75.550mhz
-Dynamite Mega Peak charger for receiver pack. Can charger 6-7cell packs + 4-5 Cell receiver packs

Well now for the bad. The trucks seems to be having an issue in either the diffs or the tranny. The diffs were recently rebuilt but I didnt shim them so they are most likely the cause. If this was upgraded to some UE diffs it would be sic. This truck has more power than it needs. Adjusting the rear suspension accordingly will help abosrb the wheels to keep the front end down on the track. It's very fast and rocks.

If you want to get into gas I'm thinking of selling my HPI Savage with a big block in it. I also have a REVO that I might sell too. If you are looking to get into racing my TC-3 sedan may go up for sale with all the support gear too. All my R/C stuff is very ell cared for, so if your interesed let me know. I just don't have time to play with this stuff any more!!

I thought about gas but it just is to expensive for me right now and you can't run it indoors. What does your TC-3 look like?

Greenfield News and Hobby +1, S&N's Trakside is ok... they don't do much nitro stuff tho. Tower Hobbies is really easy.

Go with the HPI Savage, in stock form it is nearly un-breakable and goes like 35+ out of the box.

Here is my custom savage....

The electric savage is just as good I hear, never had an electric one though.

The only downfall to the electric ones is once they start to get down low on battery they tend to run out of control and go crazy nutz. I typically have limited space to run my cars or trucks. I just got tired of 11min run times before I lost it which meant i couldnt run it out too far away from me cause I had to be able to get to it quick to keep it from hitting another car or something.

I have a HPI RS4 shaft driven gas car that I absolutely love!

I am driving down to charlotte may 6th and my older brother is giving me his TMaxx which has every single unlimited engineering piece available put on it. Aluminum monster. Cant wait to get my hands on that thing and thrash some dirt mounds. Says right now he is having issues with the 2nd gear on it. Will go in reverse and stay on low but wont switch to the other gear. I'll have to tune on it and if I cant then a couple shops I know can.

His estimate is almost 4grand in this truck so you can say I'm really stoked to bring it home

+1 for greenfield news & hobby and if you are ever in Illinois check out Venture hobbies in wheeling. I think thats the town they are in. Complete model, gas plane, helicopter shop. They used to run a off site track but not so much anymore

Ummm................ Radio fail safe FTW. Seriously, any good equipment should have a failsafe to protect you from that.

^that could have been me being a rookie with electric then. I had a stampede that was doing that. I changed over to my HPI gas car from there.

I had a few when I was younger. I still have an hpi rs4. It's a gas rally car. I found that I ran my car the most on cement anway. I had a few electric cars... they are not nearly as fun (or as much work).

greenfield news and hobby is the best in the area, but prepare to wait on a saturday.

ive always stuck with Team Losi gas stadium trucks when i was into that stuff.I havent been around that scene for a while, looks to be pretty damn big and 1/10th scale doesnt seem to be the trend anymore.I always wanted to pick up one of the NEM 1/4 drag cars :wooo
