speaker question

I'm replacing my speakers in my 240 and the size is 4X6. i was just seeing if anyone knows of a place where they sell cheap ones, or not for alot of money? and i looked at circuit city and they run from 50 to 80 dollars. which places do you guys go thru to get speakers?

Yeah no problem, and for future reference if you ever want better speakers for it, infinity makes some badass 4x6" plate speakers, theyre actually component speakers and they sound awesome but anyways, im done rambling.

I have bought several subs from 7 mile fair from the indian guys there. I havent had any issues like that. Bought a pair of 15" L7 kickers and my current alpine type r's I beat the piss out of came from there. I actually recommend people to him if its price they are after

OK... as the resident audio guru, I have to say that the only way to pick a speaker is to listen to them. Name Brands, and human ears are all different, and you as a woman are going to have very different taste than any of us men.

Women typically are much more sensitive to treble, leaving them wanting a speaker that isn't bright or tinny. (Boston Acoustics, for example, do not have a very pronounced trebly, or bright sound)

I'd suggest that you go to Best Buy or Circuit City and stand and listen to speakers & THEN buy them. Usually a brand will have the same charectoristics accross the entire line. Memphis speakers are known to be VERY bright sound, perfect for the "smiley face radio tuner" that has the bass up, mids out, and bass up. That's just an example.

Find a brand you like, a sound you like... and then buy them wherever it is thats cheapest.

Well.. you can still buy cheap speakers that fit your preference. Only because I haven't had much experience with cheaper lines, I can't nail down specific qualities or inequalities of the cheaper lines.

If you like a brighter sound - Memphis... bolder/fuller sound I'd go for Boston Acoustics.

What is your definition of cheap?

but, i honestly don't need something like that. my front speakers are blown so im pretty much just looking for anything that makes sound. haha. and inexpensive is like... under 30 but i've been looking online at places and the cheapest i've seen is 50$ (cept ebay which is where i might end up goin) but yea.
