Keeping up with the Sunday RA pics theme we have going here :rolf

I picked a few out of the hundreds I took to put up or it would be days before I could process them all. The guy I was with had 800 or 900 pics to go through so I would not expect his for quite a while. If anyone is looking for something in particular let me know.

We found some great spots for shots today. Thanks for a well run event and it was a pleasure meeting everyone.

Full gallery easier than posting them all here and more shareable; http://www.webtrendsguy.com/images/rafbody/gallery/index.htm

Thanks. Canon 1DsMKII and Greg's is a 1DMKIIn. Basically, mine is great at making things look pretty (4 fps) and his is the high speed (sports) camera (8.5 fps).

By walking around the fences and standing along the retaining wall. We had one very good point sitting on the embankment of the turn 6 bridge right next to the track.

Ask the SHO folks, they will attest to how close we were :)

Damn, now that's some mighty fine photography.

I like your editing, too. The editing can really make or break a picture, and you bring out the colors and detail nicely without going overboard.

How cooperative was the sky/lighting

Thanks :thumbsup The sky/lighting was REALLY UNcooperative. Broken, fast moving clouds, some of which really shaded things up. Just as you would dial in a bit of exposure compensation you found yourself having to back it out. I shoot everything in RAW format so fixing it isn't much of an issue but it sure adds to time taken.

Damn good stuff Scott! Next time you head up there, holler at me, I may be free if you don't mind me tagging along. Just drop me a line at work.

You're right on the lighting, what a PITA. I kinda countered it by throwing on a CPL and letting that handle when the sun would hit. Seemed to help.

As long as you do not go do something stupid like cut across the track to shoot from the other side, stand INSIDE the retaining walls or have a big group (no more than 2 people) you are fine. Basically, don't do anything stupid :durr

Can do. I have a feeling almost any weekend that has "private" event like this past weekends would provide some good shooting. Do they have a listing anywhere of who is up there each weekend?

One word; strobes. I am sure the drivers wouldn't mind at all :thumbsup

I printed a list of private events...just didn't bookmark it, argh.... It's at home, and if I can't find the URL, I'll drop a copy at your desk.

Adam and I were both running the car in D. Couldn't go wrong as there were less then 10 cars on Saturday in the group and probably less then 20 cars on Sunday. After the first lap, it was nice having an open track to really get the feel of the car.

I like seeing a variety too. I know people can just look at a photo and think it's just a Taurus (or even just a SHO), but if you walk up to it and really take a look, I think people would be a little more impressed. Plus it sounds kind of nice going down the front straight. (:

That car has never seen a flake of snow, besides what it saw on Saturday. Far from a beater, but I guess you were trying to be funny somehow.

That's the plan. Probably running Blackhawk and Gingerman yet this year and now that the roll bar is welded in, it should allow for a better way to mount a camera in there. It's on my birthday wishlist. (:

Fantastic idea. Next time you should come out, instead of saying the event is canceled. FWD was having more fun in the snow then RWD.

I was on the bridge with Scott when this pics was taken shooting Turtle's car for him. The Neon prevailed:rolf

SHO's fuel light went on while waiting on grid, so I took it easy. Adam poured some fuel in it before he went out the last time. I didn't quite want to have it run out and get towed back as that's kind of embarrassing. (:

So in short, SHO > Neeeoooooooooon.

Sounds like the SHO ran or was running out of gas, I call for a rematch

I'd love to take the coronet out there...not too sure how 4 wheel drums would do after a long straight-away though.

Maybe I should just upgrade to 4 wheel disc....

Say anything about a Taurus, an SHO, Vulcan or Yamaha motors and you're sure to draw fire.

i dunno michelle... i did pull ya pretty good in the twisties... and i had my skinny tires on vs. your r-compounds...

i do say a rematch would definitely settle some things... especially if adam throws that ysi on there... lol

Might as well toss in the Z28 with track pads and rotors.

We are planing on running Gingerman in July. We need about 12 more drivers or the event gets cancled.
